What about Guptill/McCullum for tests? They both batted down the order together and opened together.

Close - 6th spot with a good record of 44 average and of course that 339 partnership

I see Wags is now rated #5 in Test bowling, even Southee has not dropped too far so we have #5, #7 and #12 - not too shabby

And Nicholls is around 5 or so as well, with Rossco lurking at 11. So a couple of good performances in the third test away from having three players in the top 10 for each discipline.

Man, most of our opening partnerships have been shitty.

    They're defying (my) logic! 🙂

Can't think of any others with much longevity, but I'm probably overlooking one.

None of the 3 missing test partnerships are for the 1st wicket .....

@KiwiPie Google tells me Greenidge and Haynes had 148 partnerships (average 47); Hayden and Langer 113 partnerships (average 52).

"You sunk my battleship!" But no you didn't, it isn't that combo.

    Cairns/Harris 38
    Harris/Macca 27

Fleming and Harris not even on page 1.
