I have another ep of Banshee to watch to catch up (assume your spoiler includes ep5 Crucial - which I suspect includes a spoiler I saw on FB)

I think that was a bit rough that post and I think they deleted it as well. They replaced it with a highlight video and spoiler alert -

I am ploughing through the Breaking Bad seasons, almost finished season 3. This season has been a bit flat for me, with the focus on Skyler, being boring as bat shit. The nasty Mexican brothers and bro-in-law, Hank, are keeping it interesting.

Walt, get back cooking for the love of god!
-
Series 4 is probably my favourite...
-

I have also only just started plowing through Breaking Bad and half way through S2 I'm not really feeling the love. I'll keep going as it sounds like the latter seasons are the ones that made everyone go back and binge watch the earlier ones.

To start with I thought the show was about how circumstances made a good guy turn bad but FFS has 'Breaks Bad' immediately and the show is more about him finding ways to be better at it. So far many of the characters are just plain annoying, including Walt himself, and everytime I think Jesse is getting interesting he becomes really irritating again.

Maybe by watching late I am suffering from over hype, but it ain't looking like the best TV show ever as some folks exclaim.
-

I personally don't think it got good until the 3rd season* and that and S4 was probably its peak.

* DK and I obviously watch the show differently. ;)
-
Killing hottie's is never OK, NEVER!!

Watched the 1st eps of 12 monkeys, is ok, so far, nothing special to grab me, but enough I'll probably keep watching as a fill in. -

Unless they get replaced by even hotter hotties. Nothing wrong with refreshing the eye candy.
-
Plenty of uglies they can kill first!

Why would you watch 2 seasons of a show you didn't think was good?
-

It wasn't bad, and the pilot was awesome, and I'd been told S1 was short and it got better, and S2 got was definitely better than S1, then in S3 it really kicked into gear for me. I think the way to think about it is it's more a reflection of how i rate it in comparison to the people who love it. Mad Men was same-ish, I don't think it got really good until S3 and lots of fans think it hasn't been too good in later seasons whereas I think it's been great.
-

This was sort of how I felt. Breaking Bad is just a good TV show. The way people were going on about it, I thought it did something extraordinary like examine the human condition. In reality, I thought it was just a drama. People did things and then it ended. It was worth the 50 hours I spent watching it but not much more than that.
-

I think the problem now is BB was a really slow burner, you sort of watched it thinking "yeah, its a neat wee show" then as it went on it got darker & darker & you got more & more insight into the depths of Walter & who he has become & its very much "wow! thats really fucking awesome". The genuis of the show is it only slowly dawned on you what the characters were capable of. The viewer is like being a frog being slow boiled.

But it only really worked that way if it snuck up on you. So if you hear its the best thing ever you watch it going "WTF?".

Same I guess as Game of Thrones, if you haven't heard anything the fact that all these main charcaters die is new & traumatizing, if you have heard thats what happens you watch it going "yeah, whoop de fuck, the lead died".
-

On the advice of several ferners I watched an episode of Hell on Wheels, not sure what series its from but it had a badass fight with a Grizzly bear and a black dude. Is he worth getting attached to or is he disposable like the black actors in the walking dead? Being a person of colour on that show is like wearing a red shirt on star trek.

that is from S4...the latest one.

If you go back to the start, get as attached to Mr. Ferguson as you like....
-

He appears to be unhinged, I hope the bears son comes back for revenge.
-

OK, I have just finished watching Breaking Bad, and I enjoyed Season 5 the best and liked the ending (no spoilers from me, for the 3 other people in the world that hasn't seen it yet).

Over all I would still rate The Wire as better than Breaking Bad, for me Season 3 was really boring and I had to struggle through it
-
The only thing I'm religiously watching these days aside from rugby and cricket is TWD. I got into Southland last year but unfortunately only the final series and then it was prematurely canned.

But I fucking love The Walking Dead.

I used to watch a lot of cooking shows but I'm a little sick of them now. I think the NZ MKR really ruined much of the genre for me.

Did I mention how awesome TWD is???

When new series of Mike and Molly and The Big Bang Theory are on I watch both.

But TWD........ -
TWD isn't so much a TV series, more a survival documentary (plenty of what not to do stuff)

Taken an interesting turn, but was always trouble on the horizon. -

It's become slightly repetitive in that the group goes from one encounter with a bunch of crazy survivors - the hospital cops, Terminites, the Governor - to the next, and it's just a matter of waiting for them to discover the angle and then knock them all off in a confrontation while losing and replacing the occasional core character for dramatic effect. And yet it's still enjoyable to watch, wait, and try to figure out what's going on then witness the action. I expect this seasons' cliffhanger will be exactly when we learn the intentions of the Alexandrians, and must only be 2-3 episodes away now. Next weeks' trailer was edited so it looks like Daryl is being stalked and shot at, but I suspect the two aren't related and we'll have at least one more episode of settling in and hints at what's to come before anything major is revealed. Maybe the Alexandrians arent bad in general and it's just a few internal bad apples - already fingered in last nights' episode - who force our heroes' hand. Ricks' comment at the end about not becoming weak and being in a position to take the town by force if need be was quite telling, and was one of the interjections they throw in from time to time to show us how ruthless he has become. It certainly made me look forward to the possibility. You can see cracks appearing in the group already (Daryl), but also their potential for ruthlessness if need be also lingering under the surface (Carol and Rick) and one suspects they'll reunite in arms following a divergence in Alexandria
