Started watching a Netflix documentary series last night called "Losers" about pro sportspeople who lost, and what it did to them.

Episode one was Michael Bentt, who hated boxing, but became a world heavyweight champion before nearly dying at the hands of Herbie Hide.

Episodes are nice and short and look reasonably interesting.

Yeah this is OK. Kind of wished they'd gotten some bigger names though. I mean like guys who missed a vital penalty or someone who kept choking when it mattered the most. Might be difficult to get them to speak. Ian Baker Finch would have been a great addition.

Ian Baker Flinch is the best, and harshest nickname.

Maybe if they get a 2nd season they will go bigger? This was sort of quirkier stories. The curling one was surprisingly compelling.

    Poor fucker.

Hope so, there's amazing potential there. Haven't seen them all yet. I'd imagine the winter sports with the ridiculously minuscule margins for error would have some serious examples of choking.

Saw the final of The Umbrella Academy.

Really was a slow but well done series with a fantabulous final episode! Loved it. Hope they do a second season.

Is The Afterlife (Ricky Gervais latest thing) a series or a Netflix Movie? Looks excellent.

I reckon afterlife is the best thing he’s done

Me too . It is really dark though, I don’t normally binge on shows but his character was such an awful person I wanted to see where it went.

I watched the first one to see what it was like, and ended up watching the whole season. Was excellent, very unusual look at grief.

Watched The Widow - Kate Beckinsale, Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister)

Thought this was pretty decent, felt they tried to have too many little sub-plots running, but all tidied up in the end reasonably well.

    Love Death & Robots

Netflix series that will probably remind viewers of my age and viewing habit of The Animatrix anthology.

This one is a little more varied in subject matter. The eps last anywhere from 5-15 minutes so you could binge it in an evening.

Mucho violence, heaps of nudity, and robots. Some really interesting animation styles from attempting sincere realism to quirky stuff as well.

    Not one for the kids.

5 steampunk zeppelins out of 5 bioengineered pit fighting monsters.

About halfway through the Netflix series on the McCann mystery. You know the one where the 3 year old disappeared while her responsible parents were dining at the resort.
We have all heard about this case as it’s dragged on for 12 years.
Definilty on the side of the parents had a role in her disappearance/murder.

The doco showed an investigator going through their rooms with 2 specialists dogs. One trained to react to human blood the other a cadaver dog (ie can detect where a dead human body was)
Both went nuts in a couple places. Especially the cadaver dog.

Most of these cases the culprit ends up being a family member, they aren’t very likeable either the McCanns

Just finished watching the series. Very well done, it does remind me of the Heavy Metal comics. Looking forward to a new series

The first episode of Love Death and Robots might be the coolest thing I have seen in ages. Absolutely loved it.

@Virgil I'm pretty sure there are deep concerns over the training and reliability of the dogs.

Yes, like a sci fi anthology, or a Dredd collection of wildly different stories. Some are great, some meh. But still worth watching and short enough that it’s not a big investment of time.

@taniwharugby the latest season just finished and was really bloody good. It just seems really good at getting ya "involved" in the story.
