<p>I was watching the Leafs game tonight (holyshit, they won!) and saw some insanity from the Florida Panthers. Their starting goaltender got a slapper in the neck and was removed from the game. He was finished so got himself dressed in street clothes. Shortly thereafter the backup goaltender got injured and was playing on one leg. So Florida removed him from the game and was suddenly down to zero goaltenders. Their center quickly dressed into goalie equipment, but then it soon became clear the goaltending COACH would suit up as a replacement as the game was stopped to draft on-the-spot a <strong>one-day</strong> contract for $500 for the COACH -- who hasn't suited up and played in 14 years (!!) to enter the game. The original goalie (Luongo) would then get out of his street clothes and finish the game in net.</p>

<p>One of my childhood memories is almost getting caught by the incoming tide at Baileys after digging for Toheroa</p>

<p>My Dad's newish Mark 2 Zephyr sank in the sand while we were digging for the beautiful bivalves.</p>

<p>the tide was almost to the bottom of the doors before we got it shifted.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Real Kiwi 60's scene - about 15 blokes none of them known to us all digging furiously to free the car. Tipping the precious toheroa out of their sacks to put under the wheels and then once we were safe my dad opening the boot and cracking open the 3 dozen beers he always kept for dry spells and a beach party ensuing.</p>
