We went back to Lower Hutt one Christmas and after yet another day of drizzle my brother (who barely remembers NZ) asked why we hadn't come in summer. I went to every Canes game in Wellington in Year One of the Hammettuer (might as well have used the money as toilet paper). And I'm 100% not kidding every game was played in a near torrential downpour going sideways. The actual worst thing about it was that on all bar one of those days it was nice and sunny about two hours before kick off.

I'd choose Wellington over any other city in a heart beat, not just because I'm from here but because other cities in NZ don't have much going for them to be fair. Auckland's a big city with no heart, Hamilton is New Zealand's Canberra and cities in the South are just so damn cold and bitter. Wellington has the best of everything IMO and the most entertaining rugby team.
