    I think the Dark Knight works because the actions of the Joker are perfect for the character. Yes, Ledger was acting up the place (and improvising some very cinematic scenes, like the clapping in the cell wasn't in the script).

    It's Nolan's script and direction that make it a great film.

    The less said about Rises the better, they completely fucked up the characters in that one. Bane was some pussy whipped bitch, Batman is wandering around in the day and freaking retires! Alfred leaves Bruce as well. Pretty much the opposite what should have happened.

    It's like a Brett Ratner took over the franchise.

    I would have made Bane the lead villian, and have him be the kid that left the hole. Batman would have died at the end saving the city, and Robin would have become the new Batman. That would have linked it back to Batman Begins where he said Batman had to be a symbol and more than a man, and passing the torch does that exactly.

    Some sort of explanation on how he got back to Gotham with no money and into the city would have been nice. A line of dialogue about hidden funds, and a backup Batcave would have done that.

    Ha ha! Who was the Kid that left the hole? I thought it was Bane as a kid? Man I can watch a movie, semi enjoy it and still know nothing

    Talia al Ghul, which was the big twist. It turned Bane into just a dumb, pussy whipped henchman.

    Now I need to go to IMDB to see who that was! 🙂

    The one who fucked Batman.

    I need to go watch it again, obviously!

    We have 20-odd Marvel films to re-watch before End Game in a few weeks. Who has time?

    My mate has been doing this, but he's a tradie who has injured his ribs and can't work at the moment. I think I've watched every movie bar the ones I think are below average (Thor 1&2, Hulk, Iron Man 2) and the two latest at least twice so should be good going into End Game.

    Booked into Gold Class on the Friday and got the last two seats.

    Speaking about the Joker, this looks freaky...

    The first 'Comic Book Hero' flick I've been interested in seeing in years.

    This could be epic.

    @MiketheSnow I'm the opposite, find Phoenix to be sometimes good and sometimes unwatchable and I'm unsure how a solo joker would work without Batman. In saying that it may turn out to be awesome.

    @Nepia yeah will be interesting to see given he is Batmans nemesis and in some of the DC Universes has played his part ion shaping the Dark Knight, so no Batman...

    Assume that was his mum in that scene in the bath...all levels of wrong

    I think this looks interesting but agree Phoenix is not my cup of tea. he’s an odd fucken character. Odd face, strange posture. How he and River came from the same but sack is beyond me.

    Yeah. It’s this then daylight for the best Spider-Man movie for me. It’s just awesome. We bought the 4k version as soon as it was available. And yeah the sound track was awesome.

    @Rocky-Rockbottom i watched that, thought it was shit. I hated how the fucking alien could suddenly do what ever it was it needed to do to advance the plot.

    In prep for End Game i watched Infinity War on Saturday. Shit they did a good job with that movie, it's a ripper. I still can't work out how they got that many characters and that many locations and that many threads to work out. Amped for EG now.

    Life, wft, shouldve called the fucken thing Death.

    Total Alien ripoff here. Just look at the cover. You hardly even need to watch the fucken thing, it's all telegraphed right there. Why bother making exactly the same fucken movie again? Haven't these brainiac astronaut scientist fuckwits seen Alien? The major motion picture? FFS, if you've got a

    :::

    microscopic petris dish with a little martian microbe fluffybunny dancing around in it you don't give it a cuddle and yammer on with the "oh isn't it cute" bullshit when OBVIOUSLY within minutes the fucking thing will be a space Kraken motherfucker from hell feasting on your bewildered entrails then toodling off to terrorise the rest of your spaceship. "Heyyy, he was so cute a minute ago..."

    :::

    Fuck this shit, I actually gave up on the film 30 minutes in after the

    :::

    first astronaut got Squidy McMarscunt right down his cakehole. Dead in seconds. I'm not watching the Kraken octopii freakazoid get exponentially bigger while chasing you genius space wallies around your doomed fucken space ship. You tried killing him with fire (they named the little shit "Kalvin". FFS, his name is KRAKEN) and that just made him angrier.

    :::

    That's it, i'm out, fuck this shit. Someone tell me how it ended. Let me guess, Jake Gesundheit is the only survivor by virtue of becoming chatty pals with the surprisingly highly intellectual Squidy McMarsmurder who, it turns out, just wanted to be loved. Then Jake sidled up to his newest space pal and slyly stabbed him right in his squidy groin gristle, roll the credits.

    Couldn't agree more with this review, an absolute contrived turd of a flick.

    I'll bring us back to normality with this absolute banger of a scene....

    Funny I haven't watched this yet and I should as I have a family connection to this as my Brother was the visual effects art director for the work done by Sony Pictures Imageworks (SPI) on the movie.

    I think I mentioned previously that he also worked on Hacksaw Ridge. After that movie, he moved to Vancouver to work at SPI as a Visual Effects Art Director and has been working all sorts of cool stuff.

    A littl FYI, from the TV Series thread, the new Netflix series Love, Death & Robots, he was also art director on Episode 13 - Lucky 13.

    His IMDB profile is here for anyone interested (and yes, the "C" in RoninWC stands for Cox, the W is for Warren)... https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1424612/
