Dying to watch the next episode already, they should have made the first one 2 hrs, don't feel like enough happened in it but eased in nicely.
Theon's face annoyed me the moment I saw it, god he is so mopey, 100% dying in the next ep.

Jon took the news better than I thought he would, let's see how Dan takes it when she finds out, IF she does??

Yeah pretty sure Theon will die at some point
Good time as any for predictions on who will die and who will live.

Why does the guy half the size of everyone else live twice?

I almost hope there are no twists, and the Night King is just an evil army of zombies (no ulterior shade of grey motivation), and it ends like the way the series have been going since they ran out of book - ie Hollywood style.

Then the books won't be totally spoilt! Thankfully there will be no confirm not deny about what in the series is book canon and what is not... keep guessing and GRR, provided he doesn't do a Robert Jordan, can change things as he writes.

But DnD have said that there are 3 great twists - Hodor, Red wedding (i think, anyway two have been done) + A. N . Other

Well I got fooled by the "2 hour episodes" rumor and never even bothered to check it. Was geared up for a movie-length epic so was disappointed it was under an hour!

That said, though not much happened from an action POV they covered off quite a bit of scene setting etc to get everyone in the right place, with some key revelations now made, to really kick things off in the next couple of episodes. They also managed to throw in some tits and ass which was appreciated.

    Bring on next week! 🙂

given Jon and Danaerys are quite clearly a couple, surely Sam and Bran shoulda told them of thier traditional Targaeryan relationship sooner?

I didnt expect a big explosive season opener, all just building, met my expectations.

Did Jamie not know Bran was still alive? I expect Bran being the way he is will be like 'it's all good, without the 'fall' I'd not have become who I am today, it was all in the plans of the seven faced god.'

So what are the end predictions. Finally watched it last night.

The obvious one to me is that Snow commandeers a dragon that becomes loyal to him and takes out the dragon lady on her Dragon and he gets the throne and a dragon or two as pets?

But that is unlikely now the story is heading that way.

I just want Bronn to get his castle.

    Nothing else matters.

It's hard to predict, as much because it has gone so more Hollywood since they ran out of books. So will they writers stick to the book outline ending, or will they want a much more happy ever after? Thorn said to Snow before he was hanged, 'your watch will never end'. I can see him as some sort of eternal undead guardian or pact sacrifice with the others. Dani needs to die so her blood can temper a sword, in some way, not literally but figuratively. And no I don't mean Jon's pork sword.

I also hope Bron really goes hardcore and takes someone out.

@Rocky-Rockbottom yeah not only losing a dragon but gifting the night king a fucking undead ice dragon is, to me, a massive fucking deal. Especially given how easy it was. When Dani smiled at her dragons at the start you'd think she would have been bemoaning how big a loss that was instead. I mean the wall would have been more of an obstacle without the ice dragon, that kind of opened up the gates to hell.

Is it possible that she was told about the Ice Dragon prior to this hence the lack of reaction? The way GOT deals with time passed between episodes varies considerably (as does distance between locations...)

@Machpants given they supposedly have 3 endings ready incase the 'favoured' one gets leaked prior to the finale, who knows what they are upto.

@Machpants I'm thinking that at some point Bron will kill Cersei, not sure if that will be a change of heart after she asks him to kill Jaime, or if he'll work out who the winning side will be and gets in early. Because if there is one thing Bron does it's getting IN!!

Was there a director for that episode? Surely the villagers would've had more than a mild reaction to seeing two big fuck off flying dragons?

Director: act more surprised and frightened in the next take

Pretty sure I read that the actors for Bron and Cercei had an affair years ago and fucken hate eachother thus can never be in a scene together.

So therefore the tension and hostility should be nice and real.

@MN5 that's right! oooh would add some spice to the scene for sure! I bet they are secretly (or openly) hoping each other get killed off!

@MN5 Absolutely correct, but it was a relationship and not an affair, and from what I have read they both have it written into their respective contracts that they aren't to be in the same scene together. They absolutely despise each other and can't stand the sight of each other.

It's why Bron takes Podrick away from the Dragon pits before Cersei arrives for the negotiations.

There's no way I'd accommodate that sort of childish crap. Simply hire any other actor ffs.
