Rieko isn't the best 11 the Blues have had, but would people really have Roks over him in the pecking order for 11s for the Blues?

Despite the short career, I think Rieko has already had more dominate games for the Blues than Roks has had. Rieko is also already close to passing Roks for tries for the Blues and he's played about half the games.

I love the Rocketman, but he really saved his best stuff for the black jersey. It kind of correlates with his youtube highlights, which have a lot of AB stuff, but not much Blues stuff.

Also does Jonah walk into the team on the back of just the one ( admittedly amazing ) season bearing in mind he was out for the count in 97 then moved to the Chiefs.

Jonah played more than one season for the Blues - he also played for the Blues in 98 when they made the Final. He didn't play for the Chiefs until 99.

Ah yep that's right, Didn't play the final though if I remember rightly when the mighty James Kerr scored what is still talked about as a greatest try ever witnessed by mortal man.

I was in Canterbury, and absolutely stoked with the win back in 98. However, in hindsight, the Auckland scrum got a bit robbed by the ref ... my Auckland mates are still a bit dirty about it to be fair.

Love NZ; still feeling aggrieved about provincial competition refereeing 20+ years later. Just ask any Otago-ite about Paul Honiss, and watch the blood pressure soar

Marc Ellis mentioned that on Sports Cafe back in the day.....when he wasn't pissed off his nut that is.

someone was saying on the radio Jones never played 7 for the Blues...so need to choose, Kaino or Jones at 6...

would that mean Mark Carter or Daniel Braid take 7 🤔

Just thinking of 12s for the All-Time Blues XV and I think I might just put Ice at 12. He was just too good when there to not be in the conversation at least. Wish he played there a lot more than he did.

I think Kirkpatrick is out injured.

Havili's brother might be in the box seat. Wiseguy might be the other option.

I see young Z Sullivan not playing for College Rifles today. Hope he is not injured?

Did Willy Havili get much game time during the NPC?

@Duluth I think he played a little, but probably no more than Wiseguy did for Northland.

Outside of Kirkpatrick, who are the 10s who played for the development team this year?

Just looked up the teamsheet vs Chiefs A

Havili started with Sullivan on the bench

I remember Wiseguy was on the bench in the Hurricanes game but subbed on at fullback

If Plummer is injured,I would love the Blues to think outside the square, I rate Kaleb Trask from BOP as a brilliant prospect..
Brilliantly balanced runner who can kick goals as well Daniel Kirkpatrick does not do it for me..another Canes reject who is no more than a journeyman .
