The District: Rumours, Lies, Conspiracies and Homicides

Not just another true crime podcast

I found this interesting mainly because I grew up in the district nearby, know people related to people involved and worked with my Dad on a farm I believe was part of land owned by key people.

I hate the repetitive aspects of these things but ignoring that this was an interesting listen. The journo is at least very aware of taking things with a pinch of salt and how many people get obsessed with their theories yet from those obsessions they may actually find out some information that has previously been in the dark.

Got to the end of The District and I found the whole thing kinda . . . pointless. I've also since seen Lynette Stevens appear on an "outlier" Facebook page shouting conspiracies left right and centre, so the whole podcast hasn't left much of an impression on me.

Very funny episode of The Dollop about Proctor & Gamble and the satanic panic.

Bonus points for guessing who else was involved ...

(skip to 7:30 to avoid all the ads)

@jegga It was glorious wasn't it? Massive respect to Joe for bringing him back. They really should do one every 6 months. Pure entertainment

David Lee Roth is on today , he’s pretty crazy too. Imagine being wheeled into an ambulance and he is your EMT ?

I listened to the latest one, the Battle of Britain one and thought it was pretty decent, I think I'll find ones I know nothing about to be really interesting.

It is good, the show was called Melody rules, the first episode is on youtube according to its wikipedia page. I can't remember it , must have been really shit to appear on worst tv show of all time lists.

That other podcast I mentioned covers lots of different stuff , if you're into history its bloody good.

It was a show that most people at the time watched the first episode of (mainly because of the promise of Belinda Todd), realised it was cringeworthy crap, and never watched again.

My most listened to podcast is simply a radio one. Good way to listen to music of a type you enjoy, learn a few things and hear stuff that others have found for you.
I listen a lot to Face Radio which is soul/funk/blues based and pick and choose the presenters I enjoy.

When they outline the background to how it got to air, it's no wonder it was such a flop. Good listen, that podcast - I got through the series pretty quickly.
