So now that everyone has seen it ( or can stay away from this thread, it's not that fucken hard )

How epic was all of that ?

I never thought I'd end up feeling sorry for Varys. Harsh from Dany. Not harsh, he was a traitor, but he was also right!

Some poignant moments from the Lannister brothers. Yeah, sadly Tyrion's been a bloody moron for a while, but at least he's not a monster

Plot armour saved Euron Greyjoy brilliantly on the Dragons first charge. Meh on that, his battle with Jamie pointless, in fact he's been a pathetic cut down Jack Sparrow throughout.

How many innocent people died due to Danys rampage ? by christ she's an absolute bitch. I was expecting the Mad Queen, but not so mad! Her arc is great, all that build up, and she just turns out to be the worst Targyrion. She also, finally, worked out how to use a dragon - pity it was mostly against a few hundred thousand innocents!

I ended up feeling a bit sorry for Cercei whilst developing hatred for Dany. Nah Cersei got a better death than she deserved, with Jamie. I feel sorry for Brienne

Hound vs Ser Gregor ? fucken outstanding fight, I like how the latter dispatched the advisor ( name escapes me ) so ruthlessly. RIP Hound. You were the man. Best bit was the Maester getting squished, but also Hound just letting Cersei go - doesn't give a fcuk

Jaime Lannister vs Greyjoy was so convenient and contrived but fuck man, make sure the prick is dead ! yeah wasted fight and character - the book Euron is sooooo cool

So much to tidy up next week.........

Yeah where do they start? Really Arya to gank Dany? Dany + Dragon vs the rest of the 7 kingdoms? Or she takes the rulership and the wheel is well and truly not broken? Maybe she'll have a guilt trip and top herself!?

That's what I'm thinking. Leaving JS, Sansa, Arya and the cripple to rule

Jon will either die (some noble sacrifice) or head North to join up with Giantsbane or maybe even rejoin the Nights Watch. Though I think that would be unlikely after the whole stabby stabby killed him thing.

@Virgil said in GOT - there will be spoilers:

Yup the great hall is at the bottom of the Red keep, least it seems that vision of Danys from season 2 will pay off

well given all the destruction down where Jamie and Cersei were, there would be little of much left anywhere.

Last week Euron was able to reload his x-bows much quicker than this week, and this week, if anything was more realistic of how much harder it should have been for the Iron Fleet to take down a dragon.

I guess you could say thier tactics were better this week, distract with the army at the gates while lay waste to the fleet in the Bay....but otherwise, if you go t a dragon, you the boss!

Was good to see the Hound get his revenge...

What is Bronn gonna do, no where to be seen last night, so will no doubt be somewhere next week?

So the old baby dragon theories didnt eventuate...in fact, quite alot of fan theories havent eventuated.

I personally reckon Bronn and Tyrion will say ‘fuck it’ and share a couple of jars together, Castle or no Castle

Wondering if Tyrion might be the character to finish Dany. He got Varys killed after sharing the secret (which went out via crow mail), freed Jamie - although its unclear if Dany knows about that I think. That was the bit that confused me, were the bells ringing a general sign of surrender, or only about Cersei giving up the throne after Jamie reached her? If it were the latter then they'd know that Tyrion helped Jamie escape.

Anyways that'd be an interesting arc to both their stories and sign off on the Lannisters, leaving the Starks to rule.

Jon fucking Snow aye, it only he'd kept his mouth shut and his fly open!!

But aside from some very minor quibbles what an episode!!

Dany has shown she can be cruel and vengeful, but crazy enough to BBQ an entire city? Nah. There's subverting expectations and all that, but no way have they built up to her becoming Hitler.

I'm no fan of Varys, but why, after decades of perfecting the art of survival, would he suddenly get loose lips? Completely out of character.

Write the books you fat fück and let's find out what actually happens.

Jon to kill Dany. I reckon Arya is done. She looked completely destroyed by what she'd seen.

As for Varys loose lips. I think that was down to desperation. He knew what was coming and was out of time to stop it. Maybe a bit rushed but that's been the way of this last season.

Where the fudge were my extra fudging dragons?!? Wouldn't have been fitting now I have seen the damage one has done with that witch on its back. Off with her head!!!!
I need to be typing all kinds of naughty words right now, what an absolute fluff of a bunny!!
    alt text

Well Queen Crazy has some 'splaining to do next week, Jonny boy was not impressed, and handled himself very well. The King in him was born in those moments.

Lovely moment between Jamie and Tyrion, I was much more into that scene than Jamie and Cersei, had a little cry when Tyrion said how he owed his life to Jamie. 😪 I really don't want Tyrion to die....

The Arya-Hound moment was sweet too, and I liked the vulnerability of them both, it was like for a short time she went back to being that little girl, scared and running, which was fitting, and was then the phoenix from the ashes, composed again.

Another great episode. I'm not reading anymore theories now, they've all been bloody poop... Extra dragons... Birds!!!!!!

Completely agree that she hasn't been "mad enough" I would have liked more of a build up or some sort of final straw, more unravelling...

@Paekakboyz it was just the agreement Tyrion thought he had obtained form Dany that if he got the bells to ring, it meant they had surrendered...although not sure who got the message out to ring the bell for that reason.

Yeah the scene with Jamie & Tyrion was touching...ultimately Jamies love for Cersei was what got him killed, despite everything she did to him and everyone else and who she shagged, he still loved her...I did think oh its ok, they'll bloody find a way out...

Dany having a dragon kinda puts her in a very strong position, she wont want to be getting off it and being unsighted from it any time soon.

Bran will warg into the dragon and kill Dany right before she's about to kill John.

I disagree in that there has been a slow burn of pressure since she went up north. Shes always been on the outer aside from Jon, and has lost troops, advisers, a lover and in the last episode her closest friend. It does feel like a big tipping point but when greyworm biffed the slave collar in the fire I reckon they both made their decision to go hard.

Far out tho, that first scene where she cooked commoners!! Ruh roh, queenie has gone cray cray

I totally get that she would happily torture or fry her allies and even former friends, but innocent civilians? That is next level insane.

@Rancid-Schnitzel I put it down to duck this city and duck you guys for not overthrowing Cersei etc, a bit of a reach I admit but in the context of her downward spiral it fits imo

Write the books you fat fück and let's find out what actually happens.

If what he's saying (that he's not working on the last two books simultaneously) is true, I reckon the odd that he finishes are probably less than one in twenty. He's nearly 71, it's eight years since the last book was published and there's no sign of Book 6 hitting the shelves any time soon. His writing pace has been slowing "exponentially" and not only age, but motivation are against him. The story has sort of been told - and he's doubtless reading everyone's criticism and thinking, "Yeah, I'll fix that in the book, and that, and that", so he's going to be even more distracted...while every year his pace slows further.

What will be interesting is hearing what he's got to say about this final series - whether he'll come out and say, great job or shit job (or whether he's contractually bound to say great job) and how much of a twist his main storyline is on what happens in the TV series. I can't really believe he's planning a completely different story, with a different winner. But, if he's deciding to try to change horses midstream, that will take him even longer!

What I'm pretty disappointed with in this series is how rushed everything has been. These guys are presumably making mega-bucks out of the whole thing, so wouldn't have been hard to spin things out across two series, with a lot more character and plot development. And they would presumably have made more money.

Plus she's come all this way only to find out there is someone who has a better claim to the throne and the people love him (so does she). She sees the only way to rule is to make the seven kingdoms fear her. She did a pretty good job of doing that.

Hilarious to think a whole lot of children are now named after her.

Hoollyyy shiiiit. That was f'ing nuts, what an episode - not because that's how I wanted it to go down, but because of how bloody uncomfortable it was watching a character you'd grown to love descend into the depths of resentment and evil. Just awesome, she made the Lannisters look tame.

Just on that - I don't think what Dani did was unrealistic. Targaryen's are known for their crazy, power hungry streak. She's shown that from the beginning - always lusting for power and lots of glimpses of what she'll do to get it, despite positioning herself as someone that stands up for the weak and poor. Her lack of mercy on her enemies has been pretty telling.

When the bells rung she knew her time was up. She'd lost everyone she loved bar her Dragon. She wasn't getting the throne due to Varys spreading the word about Jon. She just thought F this, if I don't get the throne nobody will and laid waste to the entire city. F'ing awesome. She also partly justified it to herself by saying she is giving mercy to future generations that would have to live under a "tyrant".

Greyworm has always been intensely loyal to Dani, and grieving Missandei (as we all were) so it's not surprising he followed suit.

The last episode is going to be very interesting, I can't pick how it will play out. Dani is done but could still look to rule through blood and fire. Jon, Tyrion, Davos, Arya, Sansa etc (all the good guys) will all want her dead. Bring it on!

It's been clear for a while this is completely different to how the books will play out, deliberately so I'd say. But I'm really enjoying it for what it is - this is the best TV series I've ever watched. It is going to be extremely tough to top in my opinion (but I've always been a fantasy geek).
