@mariner4life will do. We are a little unsure if we will start her at the moment it seems. Will see how she goes today and tomorrow.

Her gallop on Tuesday was good.

Our three year olds are all performing too which is good. They should be at the races in the next month or so and Ricky Baker is back at work and loving it as he gets a spot on food lane which is the race leading from the house to the stables. Anyone on food lane knows they will get a carrot each time you walk past.

When is your horse running mate?

Mulligans accepted in to R4 at Cairns on Thursday!!!

It's all very fucking cool. Just saw the colours on the Sportsbet app for the first time.

She's drawn the carpark, so that's pretty fucking far from ideal. First race since December so don't expect too much. She'll be paying heaps.

So obviously i will load the fuck up.

Unseasonably shit day here in Cairns, fucking wet season will not end!!

Anyway, the smaller your horse, the easier it skips over wet ground right? right?

We started at big odds, and we are drifting.

If a miracle occurs, and she gets up, expect the drunkest posts since Hooroo's heyday

Always back from the draw but was Ok late. Clearly in need of more ground.

                          That was still pretty cool.

@mariner4life How did Mulligans pull up after the race? What is plan?

Polly is supposed to be going to Te Rapa pearl series race next Wednesday but she had a rubbish gallop yesterday. She will gallop again on Saturday to see if it was just an off day. Hopefully she was just not in the mood on Wednesday.

Two trialling on Monday. Mr Pickles (this will be the test to see if we think he will make a race horse or not) and Sussex, a 3 year old Tavistock filly. She is looking quite a nice type so hopefully she puts it all together for a good run on Monday.

@Hooroo no idea, trainer was supposed to come back to us with an update, and the plan for the next race. Maybe she didn't pull up well?

Weird. Usually a trainer will say how they are the next day as that is when you see any negative effects from the race.

Pulled up a bit flat apparently.

Trainer flicked through the book of excuses and landed on "jockey's fault" so new jockey next time.

                                  Next run June 10th

Just read this somewhere else and got a chuckle from me

I know this bloke who had a bet in this race one day where the horse he backed was running last. Down the back straight it suddenly stopped turned around and started coming back the opposite way. He was cheering the horse on, jumping up and down yelling Go,Go,Go. I said mate what are you cheering that one on for.
He said “I’ve backed it Each Way”

Also Gosford tomorrow couple of runners I’m interested in

R3 - super pins. Well bred...follow the hype
R8 - oxford angel. showed a lot of promise and won latest trial by about 8 lengths. Could be in for a good prep

She is in Race 5 and a prick of a draw but Te Rapa is the place to get a bad draw. She can win.

Hoping her to weigh in, minimum

We're now up to 3, possibly 4, of the 6 (now 7) horses in our syndicate that have either not made it to the track or have been retired.

                                          • One didn't even get sent to its intended trainer
                                          • One looked OK, placed a couple of times, won a "walkover" (only horse nominated for a race in a specific series), and then got injured. The syndicate manager hasn't actually told us she's finished as a racehorse because - well - that would actually involve being upfront to the people who pay the bills.
                                          • One simply hasn't been good enough, judging by her efforts at the workouts or trials.
                                          • Another one got two bumps on the leg and was retired without even getting close to the workout sor trials.

                                          Of the rest:
One has placed 2-3 times, and won by a nose. Currently back jogging.
Another one had her first workout on Saturday and hit the line nicely.
A replacement for one of the retired ones was apparently looking REALLY good at home then had a setback (again, we're too simple to be told what the setbacks are) and will come back as a 3yo apparently.

I wouldn't give so much of a shit about throwing good money after bad if the communication hadn't been so piss-poor. The syndicate organisers treat us like 12-year-olds, and seem to think silence is the best policy.

The whole point of signing up to a syndicate with a syndicate manager (rather than through a trainer) was for better communication. I even offered early in the piece to help out for free, considering my background. Often they'll email us 2-3 days after a horse has trialled, rather than letting us know a day before when the fields are publicly available, and considering we have 4-5 horses in work, it can be a month between emails.

By contrast, the other syndicate I've joined up to has 2-3 yearlings - yes, not even in proper work yet - and that trainer's wife has averaged 2-3 emails a week with videos and pictures, although it's a bit quieter now as we go into winter. The contrast is not only obvious, it's confusing considering the resources the first syndicate has to call on.
