I wouldn’t think there would be more than 5 or 6 in this group up to SR standard And 3 of those are at franchises already

At least four that I know of:

    Devan Flanders (Hurricanes)
    Leicester Faingaanuku (Crusaders)
    Billy Proctor (Hurricanes)
    Etene Nanai-Seturo (Chiefs)

@Stargazer ok didn’t realise Flanders was already signed the other 3 I alluded to.
Not a lot left to sign really maybe 3 others up to SR.

@Chris Yeah, not many. Gregory's contract expires this year, so has good chance to be picked up by a franchise. Kereru-Symes has trained all preseason with the Canes, but I don't know whether he has a contract. Quinn Tupaea if he has another good Mitre 10 Cup season. Not many others have Mitre 10 Cup experience.

Obviously, of the players that were overlooked for the JWC, Toala has a contract with the Canes. McClutchie, doesn't have a contract yet, I think, but he has already played well at M10 Cup level. Kaleb Trask, maybe worth a look at, too.

Cullen Grace is 1.90m. Have you ever seen such undersized locks play in the SR ? Oh wait ...

Particularly after being so clearly beaten by Australia in the build up.

After Matt Proctor's most likely season ending shoulder injury for the Canes, i'm thinking Billy Proctor might be called back into the Canes squad.

So he damn well should be. He is getting paid full contract wages, make him get out there and earn what he is getting very well paid to do.

@Canes4life Not so sure about that. Peter U-J is in the touring squad to South Africa and Jonah Lowe will probably be available again, too. He posted this on his instagram (with a photo of his with his brothers in the jersey of his club), so I assume he has recovered from his injury and will play club rugby next weekend:

@Stargazer yeah I agree re Peter Umaga Jensen, he will most likely come into the 13 jersey. I hope they don't move Barrett from fullback because he is starting to get some momentum there.

Maybe he is not good enough to warrant making the match day 23? Having said that Mr. Philpott has made some rather mysterious selections in his lineups starting right from his first NPC Head Coach appointment.

@Higgins so those who have Super Rugby experience get selected behind those who don't. Makes total sense 😕 He could be in for a long tournament if he continues this method of selection.
