Does anyone know what's up with the massive number of 'This Tweet is unavailable' messages on Twitter? I see them in replies to nearly every tweet now, sometimes get like 30 in a row.

@No-Quarter they've deleted it, they've blocked you or they've gone private mode.
I have some experience all of the above. IT's basically what happens when you ask a left winger a question with respect and they get all pissy and block you to avoid having to answer.

@MajorRage yeah but there's been a massive increase in them lately which looks like more than just the scenarios you describe. Like twitter is cracking down/purging tweets they don't like. Seen a few people wondering what's going on but haven't seen anyone be able to explain why the big jump.
Edit - for example scroll down on the replies to this and you'll come to 60+ of them, which I'm seeing a lot now.

This is what I see, there's about 60+ of them after this reply. I see them in replies to just about all tweets now, never used to. Maybe I've been added to some mass block lists for my highly controversial tweets...

@No-Quarter I had a look yesterday, but that was via a general view rather than logging in. Didn't see any blocked or unavailable tweets. So it was either about not being logged in and/or something about your account?

Have you tried disabling the quality filter?

Thanks guys, further investigation has revealed it to be an issue with the app on my phone specifically. When I log into Twitter on the laptop I can see all of the tweets.
Have disabled the quality filter but same result. Weird. Might reinstall Twitter on the phone.

I'm hearing that the issue I have above is part of twitter trialing new "healthy conversations" features which mute tweets that they deem do not contribute to the conversation. Great of them to decide that on our behalf.

Saw a great tweet on this, but sadly impossible to find now. Basically along the lines of all Twitter needs to do is delete accounts that list preferred pro-nouns, 80% of these issues would disappear overnight.
I always hated twitter but this Telegram that people are jumping on now is actually bloody good and unlike twitter doesn't lend itself so much to the outrage mobs.
