So, in the locking department, the situation will be as follows:

Not playing Super Rugby in 2020, but available for the ABs: Sam Whitelock
Not playing Super Rugby in 2020 and unavailable for the ABs: Brodie Retallick

Available for Super Rugby and ABs in 2020: Scott Barrett and Patrick Tuipulotu

Meaning that for the ABs, we have in 2020: Whitelock, Barrett and Tuipulotu

Playing Super Rugby in 2021 and available for the ABs: Whitelock
Not playing Super Rugby in 2021, but available for the ABs: Retallick

Not yet signed for 2021: Barrett and Tuipulotu

Wow Beaudy to the Blues. Big rumours coming through Radio Sport.

I will believe it when I see it.

    Haha,

He's free to go wherever he wants.

Context is important in those posts. 2 Completely different conversations.... if Beauden grew up wanting to play for the Blues then I would have ecxpected him to sign ages ago.

It sounds like clickbait to me. I believe it when they publish a media release confirming the move.

I thought he lives and breathes Taranaki? Surely he moves to the heart of Taranaki rugby, the Chiefs.

be hugely surprising if he did move.

Would still need a good 9 to give him decent ball, so the Blues could ruin BB completely!

@SammyC most likely hanging a carrot to the Blues in an attempt to boost the Hurricanes offer before he re-signs.

I remember this happened to Carter at a similar stage in his career and he ending up staying with the Crusaders.

Blues should ask the Canes to loan Beaudie to the Blues for this weekend only - like in junior rugby when you even up the teams when it's a clear mismatch....

Real pie in the sky stuff..personally I would not bother given Barrett has a sabbatical clause in his contract next year not to mention back in 2016 he did not want come to the Blues and who do we end up signing ..?,his understudy at the Canes Otere Black who has hardly made one stand up and notice..
I would try and develop Plummer and Perofeta as my 2 main first fives moving forward and cut Black..
And then maybe look at Jack Debreczini who has only signed for one year with the chiefs and I have my doubts wether the Chiefs
will re sign him with the very promising Kaleb Trask in the wings..
Other possibilities are Hayden Parker, but that’s pie in the sky stuff as well given his close link to Otago ..or out of left field if we are lead to believe some of the press in Britain that he has been one of the poorest NZ signings. Lima Sopaga, why not..? We know he can steer a team around at super rugby level...

I can't see Beauden moving to the Blues, I would be shocked if its true which I doubt, maybe the Jordie move to the Crusaders has some merit.
Personally I think both Barretts will resign with the Canes I just cant see it happening.
