The Lego Movie not getting a nomination for Best Animated Movie tells everything you need to know about Awards.

They can't be taken seriously.

Overall that is a decent list of TV shows but I don't know how Rectify misses out completely.

I like Rectify but I'm not sure I'd put it on the top 5 and I can clearly see why the voters wouldn't select it. They'd get one or two episodes to watch to make a decision and that show would make little sense that way.
-

The one I think should be there but isn't, is The Americans.

Both Leads, Supporting Actor and best Drama would be worthy nominees.

A totally ignored show for some baffling reason.

..and if there was a category for Best Naked View from Behind, Keri Russell would be a shoe-in.
-

Agree 100%. I think Rhys should a.) be nominated and b.) win.

In the comedy section Brooklyn Nine Nine should be there but the Emmy's seem to have gone edgy in comedy and it would appear to be too broad. Funny as fudge though.
-

TJ Miller for best supporting actor in a comedy series!

TJ Miller would win 'best supporting actor for helping me struggle to watch a series as I find him annoying'. He can collect his statue at any time.
-

Nothing on True Detective S2? Third episode, slow as slow, just a filler. Liked the first for character development, 2nd for .......... And 3rd as I said just a bit of a filler

There is only one outcome I want in this show.

Someone to shoot that miserable bitch of a bar singer right between the eyes to shut her up.
-

Might just be the best show on TV right now.
-

Hand up!

I begrudgingly watched Dancing With The Stars this year with True-love and found myself enjoying it.

Chuffed that "Sci-Fi What a Nice Guy" (Thanks Radio Hauraki) won. Could there be a more gracious, humble man in New Zealand. He has rocketed up my 'man - love' list.

No so chuffed that true-love let out the ole "phwoar" when he appeared bare chested for his final dance and then she looked at me "not so phwoar" :(
-

Hope you didn't escalate the situation by mentioning Simon's dancing partner... now I was going to make some comment about spicing things up with morning radio....
-

I've never watched that, never floated my boat!

Might have to have a look at Mr. Robot!!
-

Didnt watch it but that sounds like her. Did Pam Corkerys tourettes impede her dancing?
-

True Detective
Seems like the real story only just starts and all the previous has been scene setting.
OK, it's different and not the usual progression where a show would have started at last night's ep and filled in the backstory as it went, like last season's flashbacks, but it didn't really work for me.
Taylor Kitsch's character is just too unbelievable. The struggle to get out of the closet thing is way too 1980s. Just pick a hole and get on with life son.
-

Quoting myself here, but it cracked me up when I read this in an episode recap of yesterday's show in 'The Atlantic' (this show mumbles so much I am trying to make sure I actually understand what is going on)

If we must have deranged shootouts with mass civilian casualties, can they at least take place in the bar, where that impossibly tedious melancholy singer might plausibly be caught in the crossfire?

I definitely have to use subtitles, even if I listen on my Sennheiser HD 650s.

This season has been a bit average, but the latest episode was very good. A big step up.

It seems like he's been going for a Michael Mann Heat atmosphere, but that kind of minimal dialogue and very deliberate characterisation is rather difficult. I don't think it's a coincidence that the best episode so far was the one with the best plot developments and the least reliance on atmosphere and actors carrying a scene.
