Given what I watch on TV it would be Rugby, Cricket, Cycling (both lycra lads and downhill MTB), motor racing (usually Supercars rather than F1 slotcars)

I have a stupid number of sports channels but only really watch rugby and even then I've missed most Super games this year. I've been conscious of the cricket world cup but have barely watched a minute. Contrast that with the last time it was in the UK (99?) when I stayed up for all the big games. **Maybe it's because my boys aren't interested in watching sports and it's not as fun watching alone?
    **
The gf is very sporty so hopefully we'll watch more sport if and when she moves in. Still get a horn for the Olympics and the time difference will be sweet in 2020.

The only sport my boys will attend is Basketball, no interest in Rugby or Cricket. Courtside seats and free food definitely helps but they were genuinely chuffed to meet all the players after one game recently.

I tried getting them to watch 20/20 over summer. No interest whatsoever, both grabbed the nearest ipad/chromebook and were off in another land. Fuck knows what they would have done if it was a test match.

I would of clicked motor sport, but I can't see it if it's there. So rugby, America's cup of we're in it, was all I clicked.

Unsurprisingly, the poll misses Rodeo and also cutting, a sport that I'm sure no-one here has heard of, but one in which we have a very successful kiwi called Clint Allen - I think he recently went over 5 million dollars as a rider after winning a couple of weeks ago in Vegas:

Rugby - only sport I watch with any regularity but not every week, though will watch replays
Cricket - If NZ is playing or any other "big game" e.g. Aus v Eng
Soccer/Football - has replaced league as the occasional sport I watch (I don't live in QLD anymore). Have grown to appreciate it but still think it's dull more often than not
Tennis - Pretty much any big game but only if the timing is right
    Boxing/MMA - big fights only

Was a mediocre hooker and even worse cricketer back in the day. Enjoy skiing and golf though do them very rarely. Have done a bit of boxing for fitness which I enjoyed.

No longer play any sport but watch as follows.

    Rugby
    Cricket

Distant third = Aussie Rules (as long as Sevens is not a separate sport ... mind you that might be 4th as it's not as available as AFL)

Netball if you count watching my daughter

Big events (Olympics, Comm Games, Champs League Final, NBA playoffs, Super Bowl... that sort of thing, but not going out of my way)

    Anything else that's on

Back in the day (school) I played:
    Rugby
    Cricket
    Basketball
    Golf
    Badminton
Harriers (not sure how you "play" Harriers, took part in perhaps)

    Post school:
    Rugby
    Cricket
    The odd hit of gollof

@MN5 can you replace one of the options with cycling? Depending on which study you look at, the Tour De France for instance is watched by between 1.4 and 4 billion people. Evidently.

    Rugby , league , and boxing . i cant split them ,

but i love the ABs more than the other participants ,

AFL prob comes in there somewhere behind , long time supporter of the tigers

in my 30s I played baseball and used to follow that , but have lost interest over time ,

on a participant level, love mountain biking these days , and take a bit of interest in the enduro world series

    1. Rugby
    2. Football
    3. Cricket
    4. Tennis
    5. Table Tennis
    6. Snooker

Played a bit of the above to varying levels of ineptitude. Have coached Rugby, Cricket and football to kids a bit too.

Also like watching Horse-racing, Olympic Sports, US sports, Cycling, Rugby League and F1. Enjoy watching most sports really.

Never really got into MMA, AFL or Golf though.

Horse Racing, Golf, Footy, Rugby and Cricket.

Probably watch Horse racing the most out of any of those. Cricket may take over in summer but I'm not sure on that.

Rugby and Cricket were easy but then it was a case of pick 3 from mot of the rest.

I don't watch much sport live at all other than cricket and AB tests so went for the ones I bother to follow the most closely which were Tennis (Grand Slams and went to Stanley St for about ten years on the trot), Football - follow most European football and the major tourneys and dip into KP's tipping comps and Americas Cup - watch it all when it comes around. Actually was surprised to see AC given its a cyclical event rather than an ongoing sport.

Could easily have chosen golf, b'ball or a host of other sports.
