@Sneakdefreak the Lakers still got LBJ and AD. LA is spoilt for basketball riches now. GSW will be lucky to make the playoffs if Boogie leaves and Klay doesn't get back soon enough

Eh? Shouldn’t that three letter GSW be OKC?

Warriors still have Curry, Green and now with a bit of extra cap can get better role players.

I don't know how much room they have. Lots of movement to come in free agency, its hard to know what teams will look like. You are right though, OKC are looking bad right now. Russ is all alone again

OKC are better off trading Westbrook and getting more picks and young players and trying to build something a year or two from now. They're not winning the west with the Clippers, Lakers, Trailblazers, Nuggets, Pelicans and GSW all in their way.

    And you forgot the Jazz!

Also forgot the Spurs. Mavs aren't that far behind either.

Rondo, Boogie, Ad, Kuzma, Lbj, Danny green, Javale McGee. If they got Iggy that would be massive.

There are enough pieces there to make some noise. Apparently Rich Paul is Iggy's agent. You can bet they are angling to get him to LA. Still need more shooting I reckon. They reckon Kyle Korver might be in play. The arms race in LA is getting crazy!!

    Lakers projected starting 5

PG Rondo (perfect pass first PG, excellent defender. Only knock is lack of outside shooting threat)
    SG LBJ
    SF Kuz
    PF AD
    C Boogie

Their bench is deep, with guys who start on their old teams. They also re-signed KCP, who can play a similar role to Lou Williams

Sources: Westbrook talking next steps with OKC

Sources: Westbrook talking next steps with OKC

Russell Westbrook and his agent, Thad Foucher, are engaged with Thunder GM Sam Presti about the next steps of Westbrook's career, including the possibility of a trade prior to the start of next season, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Are there any contenders out there who want a ball dominant PG like Russ? Good call by the Baron, if they trade him they can try and get a good haul while his value is still high. Physical players like Russ tend to fall off a cliff at some point, and he can't shoot outside. A fist full of draft picks or prospects a-la the Pelicans would make sense

Is it?? I'd rate the Clippers bench a lot higher than the Lakers bench. KCP isn't fit to polish Lou's boots. And the Lakers would kill for a guy like Landry Shamet.

I tip the Lakers will not perform as expected next year. New roster, new coach, and all the drama that surrounds the franchise will see them lose in the second round of the playoffs.

Clippers have a better coach, deeper roster, better front office. Just depends on the fitness of Kawhi and George, two players with long injury histories.

I think the Warriors are now underrated, and the Rockets are really underrated.

Going to be a fascinating year.

Plus Lou and Harrell off the bench.

My early rankings for next season:

    Western Conference

    1. Clippers
    2. Houston
    3. Utah
    4. Lakers
    5. Golden State
    6. Portland
    7. Dallas
    8. Denver
    9. Spurs
    10. New Orleans
    11. Sacramento
    12. OKC
    13. Minnesota
    14. Phoenix
    15. Memphis

I think Houston have got real 'what about us' potential. The more I think about the Lakers the less I like them, but they should still be able to make a fairly deep play-off run.

Portland and Denver are also smokies, but you feel like they have gone backwards this off-season.

    Eastern Conference

    1. Milwaulkee
    2. Philadelphia
    3. Boston
    4. Toronto
    5. Indiana
    6. Brooklyn
    7. Miami
    8. Orlando
    9. Detroit
    10. Knicks
    11. Charlotte
    12. Wizards
    13. Atlanta
    14. Chicago
    15. Cleveland

I think Boston are under-rated. Kyrie was a cancer and Kemba could be a better fit for them. Losing Horford is a blow, obviously, but they have an underdog tag which they might relish.

@barbarian I think Boston is under-rated as well, picking a Bucks/Celtics Eastern Conference Final. Can't go past Clippers/Lakers in the Western Conference Final but I could see the Warriors stunning both if Klay returns early from his injury.

I like Denver’s stocks better than Portland’s right now. There’s a few guys that are still developing their game rather than being at their peak.

If Michael Porter Jr can play and is as good as his pre-injury projections they will be very good. Their centre (is it Nurkic?) is a boss

OKC traded away Jerami Grant to the Nuggets. Where he will no doubt become an all star....

After years of supporting the Sonics and now the OKC, it may be time to reevaluate
