I haven't watched it yet, did McAdams save the series by getting naked?

TBH, I don't think it was as bad as it's being made out to be while not being close to the original or to top tv in general.

As I said above I didn't find VV bad (aside from his scenes with the ginga, that storyline was kak) which may explain my enjoyment more than others and thought Farrell did well after the first couple of episodes where he was just a cliche.

In saying all that they had some huge issues in pacing and storytelling. They likely could have cut anything that wasn't part of the main storyline and fleshed out the VV 'mob' without all the time wasted with the ginga. Its a pity that the writer and director had a spat last year as it appears that they create something better than the sum of its parts together.

Watched 'Humans' last night. Looks promising but I hope it avoids being drawn out. A short sharp series on this premise with a solid end could be really good.

Liked the way the show didn't avoid the obvious. hen the bloke brought his 'synth' the first thing I thought was 'she's hot' and the first thing they showed was him eyeing her up from behind.

Bit odd for any woman to allow a hot, totally obedient other woman into the house without the 'I will chop your dick off' talk.

Watched all 24 episodes of Bojack Horseman over the last few days. Pretty good.

In contrast The Dreamers, an attrocity of a film, so she spent the entire movie buck naked in a valiant attempt to rescue it. I feel like she reads scripts & goes "ok, this is fucking awful, I should be naked" & the director goes "wow, thanks, I know its shithouse but I had no idea how to make it better"

Shes like a british Mila Jovavich. 5th Element? This is actually pretty good, I'll stay mostly clothed. Stone? I'm going to need to be naked for most of this or people will just walk out.

She was not naked at all in that piece of crap she made with Johnny Depp playing a vampire- dark shadows?
Tim Burton if you're reading this I want those 90 or so minutes of my life back and I doubt I'm alone in thinking anything directed by you starting your wife and Depp is best avoided.

Finally getting to watch House of Cards. Has there been a better first episode of anything, ever? I watched 3 last night and had to force myself to go to bed and not watch another one.

There's a Sunday theatre series dramatising some interesting NZ crimes , tonight's was Brett Garner . Normally I'd think anyone who pretends a satanist is stalking them , carves up their back with a scalpel and torches their own house is certifiable but he was using it as a way of escaping Palmerston North which makes it understandable .

Unfortunately it also has Christian Slater in it.
I have to confess, as an IT professional, I did get a kick out of being able to validate what the hackers were doing for once. Too often the movies make out hackers to be some kind of wizard that bangs a few keys on a keyboard and next thing you know, they are streaming the live feed from a traffic camera or they've taken control of the traffic lights etc. Heck, even their terminal sessions (though incredibly simple) were legit.
They need another big personality in there for it to go the distance.

I'm not an IT professional and even I crack up when i see so called hackers simply sitting down and rapidly tapping at their keyboards for 20 seconds before going 'I'm in!'

To be fair its the only time in most IT geeks lives than can claim to be inside anything so its not surprising it only takes 20 seconds.
