CWC Semi Final - Black Caps v India

Can only hope the pitch is a nightmare. Initially I was thinking aim for 200 after 40 then launch to go for 300. But it seems much tougher so I guess has been re-evaluated to 150-170 then launch.
Problem is when we collapse when trying to launch so we end up trying to defend 180 odd. I.e WC final 2015.

Will be really interesting to see how the Indians go batting on this pitch. Is it tougher work than it looks? Have we gone into our shells? Are these two doing a great job of tying us down and stopping runs?

Kane has been in good form and has spent 25 overs out there reading the pitch I back his assessment of the pitch. If he goes before we get to the 40th over all bets are off.
Hoping Taylor is building this like his 100 against Pakistan in 2011 CWC, started similarly and built to a massive crescendo in the final 5 overs.

This is the game from 2011 CWC which seems to be tracking similarly...
119/4 after 30
163/4 after 40
302/7 after 50.Similar pitch, similar sized ground. More wickets in hand. India perhaps have a different financial incentive structure to Pakistan.

These two have taken the time to get their eye in and get a good read of the pitch. Hard to fault that, they're by far our best players and have taken full responsibility for the innings.
No doubt both players have the ability to put the hammer down. Just have to hope they come off.

Yeah, there was plenty of seam early on as well. Think we've decided the final 10 is when it will be easiest so we're keeping wickets in hand for that.

Or maybe it’s the lack of form of NZ batters making hard work of it?
18 overs to go with 8 wickets in hand, slow pitch or not, we have 120 runs - we need a rocket
