@Jaguares4real lol the only reason the Jaguares made the final was because of the conference system, Crusaders and Hurricanes are clearly the two best teams and have been for the last four years.

Harsh reality is the Canes played Jaguares and Crusaders four times this season & lost all four games

In three of those games the Canes got the crap beaten out of them

This year has been one of the stronger seasons of SR in recent times

Before that the comp has crap teams like Cheetahs Kings Force allow teams to accumulate easy wins i.e. Lions

Moreover the Conference system is a pain in the arse for Jaguares
They have to play more games in SA where they've struggled since day 1

Jaguares prefer playing AUS & NZ teams with their weaker packs plus they tour well They've won their last 6 games in AUS and 3 out of 4 in NZ
That's why i'm looking forward to 2021 when the format will suit them

I believe the Higlanders have a terrible recent record in SA to give an example The only NZ sides who tour well which in NZ are Crusaders & Canes

@Jaguares4real read into that what you like but we didn't have Beaudy etc when the Jaguares came to town. If the Canes and Jaguares would have met in a Semi, the Canes would have been heavy favourites.

Beady would have made little difference Heck 2005 Dan Carter wouldn't have saved the Canes Jaguares pack dominated the Canes period

I'd also fancy Jaguares to definitely beat the Canes in Buenos Aires
Brumbies walked into a buzz saw and got carved up

They would also have a good chance of winning again in the Cake Tin
Jaguares were 1st non NZ team to win in Wellington since 2015 👀 👀

Canes don't have a dominant scrum, nor is their line out particularly flash

Jaguares can handle NZ packs Crusaders are the one exception & that's largely because of their scrum

@Jaguares4real we will see next year when Lomax comes in. The Canes are losing no one in their forward pack and will only be stronger next year with our young guys being that much more experienced.

Are the Jaguares losing anyone of note?

Pablo Matera is off to France. He'll be a huge blow, captain and best player.

Not as big a loss as when Conrad and Ma'a left IMHO.

              FOH

It's alot easier to replace a centre than a 1st five especially in a team that depend on 5-6 star players to be successful & generally lacks quality across their squad

Saying that Canes will have a much better squad in 2020 but they won't sniff beating the Crusaders or Jaguares in all likelihood

The flow-on effect from BB being available to play in 2020 is that one of Black or Perofeta might be available to the Canes.

I think all the Blues guys have contracts. With Barrett arriving halfway through next year they won't want to release any without signing another option

Matera has been the best blindside flanker in world rugby last 2 years and there's no one close to his level TBH

Matera will be a significant loss but Jaguares would manage just fine

There're numerous options in Backrow: youngsters who've played for U20 Pumitas side - couple of absolute units in the backrow to select

Kramer will step up as will Lezana Bruni is a solid player

Gorrisson is another guy who's decent as well but he's more of a jackeller

Plumtree has a liking for plodders.

So Canes are unlikely he will aim high at first five. Maybe try to turn Fletcher Smith into a super rugby first. A lost cause but still. JGB had a VG game vs the Blues but he's too inconsistent. The issue is if JB leaves as well its not a good look for the Canes. Lossing two ABs who stay in NZ but leave for another team. I wonder if Plumtree is rubbing a certian type of player up the wrong way. Jordie looks a slightly moody type and maybe he just doesn't know how to handle these types of players. I remember reading somewhere that Tana wasn't too impressed with the way Plumtree (or at least I think it was Plumtree) talked to players

Umaga also tackles respected coaches John Plumtree and Bryan Williams, saying Plumtree enjoyed humiliating players in front of teammates and that Williams was not "up to speed" with the modern game.

@Jaguares4real Can you shut the f... up about the bloody Jaguares? Go start your own thread about how much you love them. You could even list all the Arg rugby posters you have on your bedroom wall in there.

I even thought of a title for it.

                            Jaguares. To infinity and beyond!

If we lose Jordie I hope we get Thomas Umaga Jensen from the Highlanders. A future centre pairing of him and his twin bro could be fairly menacing.

                              @Canes4life

We are well covered in the midfield. Its a first 5 (I still believe Jordie could possibly be VG at 1st). I.d still like another good lock (Blackwell its still a mystery to me why he's rated so highly). And at least one more quality prop

And if we had to lose one of Perenara or Barrett. It would be Barrett. But its a strange decision for BB to make. It must be an issue with the coaches and if this is the case then its sadly best he goes. Plumtree needs his team that relates to and likes him or his approach even if it includes plodders like Blackwell. And Prinsep. Get his team in place (as Hammett did) and see how it goes. I doubt if its a super rugby winner as it wasn't with Wellington but like Wellington the team will do well but never quite make it.

To be fair Tana whinged and complained about a lot of people in his book.

... he ranks up there with Norm Hewitt in the biggest cry baby list.

Plum did an excellent job in SA for the Sharks & has a god rap in Ireland where he made significant improvements to their pack

Tana did all right in 3rd tier of rugby

But he's been garbage at Super Rugby level to the point he is now a glorified water boy

Tana should be grateful for being employed period

@Jaguares4real Can you shut the f... up about the bloody Jaguares? Go start your own thread about how much you love them. You could even list all the Arg rugby posters you have on your bedroom wall in there.

I even thought of a title for it.

                                  Jaguares. To infinity and beyond!

Plumtree would be an excellent assistant AB coach. He just lacks a bit (and hes almost there) as a head coach. And this slight lack means he's always close but never nails it. Its a shame really. Lam is one example. He prefers him to Goosen. Goosen is a great defender. Lam is crap. Both are good on attack. And its these types of small weird decisions that makes a difference between winning. And not quite winning.

Congrats to the Canes who scored a consolation try in 81st minute to give final score a flattering look

28-13 was more reflective of the dominance the Jagaures showcased in the game

Here are some key pointers as some game details might have eluded your memory

Stevie Wonder would have been more accomplished with his lineout throws than Aumua

Laumape getting trampled in the lead up to a Jaguares try in 2nd half

J Marshall being god awful Canes would have been better with 14 men
