My thing with the Furious movies is yes, on day one of filming they punch the laws of physics in they face and kick them off the set, but they know they are making wildly unrealistic popcorn action flicks, and just have fun with it. They require a huge suspension of belief to get through any of it

Not huge. Complete. The problem with such movies is you either need a complete ignorance of the subject matter, or it is merely taking liberties. Unfortunately the writers are in the first category. 'Granny shifting, not double-clutching like you should'
Was it supposed to be a big reveal that Ethan Hawke was John near the end? They played it like it was but I thought it was pretty obvious early in the movie.
Watched Predestination...bit of a mind-fucking if you start to think about it too much....but yeah I thought it was obvious, but then I started to question if that was what I had seen.

I liked it though!
And even thought you worked out that Ethan Hawke and John were the same, don't tell me you didn't go "holy fuck" when it turned out that they were all the same person, the baby, the girl, the guy, Ethan Hawke. I certainly did.

I loved the way the story was told, i thought it was a fucking excellent movie, one of the best i have seen for ages.
Yep, it was awesome, I didn't go "holy fuck" because I thought they'd sign posted it really well, not trying to claim I'm brilliant or anything - I didn't work out the Sixth Sense and still have no idea WTF Mullholland Drive was about, but because it was extremely well written and put together.

Again it seems like the premise was thought up and the story line hammered in afterwards however there were more subtle clever nods through out which appealed to my geeky side.

I had the pleasure of watching "Leon: The Professional" last night. Even now, 21 years on, it's a brilliant movie, with 3 awesome performances by the leads.

Straight Out Of Compton: The story of NWA, or more accurately the story of Easy, Dre and Cube. DJ Yella and MC Ren are merely supporting players in the movie and Arabian Prince doesn’t rate a mention. The movie was produced by Dre, Cube and Easy’s widow which may explain that focus.

It’s mainly about their early years, how they got started and then the fall out when Easy and the manager Heller seemed to be the only ones making any money. Has quite a bit about Suge Knight too - the dude is a bit psycho.

Ice Cube’s son plays him in the movie and front on he looks heaps like him – he was pretty good at playing his old man.

Obviously the soundtrack was bloody good. There were a bunch of other era appropriate songs not from NWA. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed that era of rap.

A review of the new Transporter movie:

The Transporter: Refueled is winningly stupid

Ignatiy Vishnevetsky

B-

Can stupid be an aesthetic? The Transporter: Refueled, the Jason Statham-less fourth entry in EuropaCorp’s signature franchise, may be the hands-down dumbest movie of the year—an unnecessarily convoluted chase-heist-product-placement flick that climaxes with the hero flying feet-first off of a jet ski and straight into the passenger seat of the villain’s G-Class Mercedes. By this point, of course, suit-and-tie-clad courier Frank Martin has already fended off goons with a medieval battle ax, blown up an Audi with a self-destruct remote that proceeded to also self-destruct, impersonated a doctor, and gotten away from the cops by driving his car up a jetway and straight through a terminal, blending into the sparse taxi traffic of an airport arrivals lane as though it were no big deal.
