Ironically the Brisbane Bears were originally playing precisely where the Suns play now in Carrara on the GC. It wasn't until they actually started playing in Brisbane (and started winning a few games of course) that they took off.

The merge with Fitzroy was the big one ,that’s where they created the great team that won a few flags, but before that , it was pretty ordinary and had a similar vibe to the suns.

They were actually getting some real momentum even before that. The move to the Gabba was massive. They made the finals in 95 and finished 3rd in 1996.
