A review of the new Transporter movie:

Can stupid be an aesthetic? The Transporter: Refueled, the Jason Statham-less fourth entry in EuropaCorpâ€s signature franchise, may be the hands-down dumbest movie of the year—an unnecessarily convoluted chase-heist-product-placement flick that climaxes with the hero flying feet-first off of a jet ski and straight into the passenger seat of the villainâ€
s G-Class Mercedes. By this point, of course, suit-and-tie-clad courier Frank Martin has already fended off goons with a medieval battle ax, blown up an Audi with a self-destruct remote that proceeded to also self-destruct, impersonated a doctor, and gotten away from the cops by driving his car up a jetway and straight through a terminal, blending into the sparse taxi traffic of an airport arrivals lane as though it were no big deal.

I had the pleasure of watching "Leon: The Professional" last night. Even now, 21 years on, it's a brilliant movie, with 3 awesome performances by the leads.

Luc Besson seemed like he may have been headed for greatness with this movie....
-

Rose Byrne staring into the camera is awe inspiring in this movie. She is still bloody awesome too.
-

Kinda slow, needed more action tbh, bit of a chick flic/rom com..
Just fucken insane, agree with previous comments, was more about Furiosa than Max
Your description of it doesn't quite match your rating... -

Its because i enjoy slow paced chick flics/rom coms ;)

I guess my original post was too subtle!

It was a fucken mad movie, i recommend checking out the behind the scenes stuff, its insane the trouble they went to with the stunts and creating of the cars.
-

I loved Max. Saw it on the big screen, the storm sequence alone worth the price of admission, as close to the feeling of tripping on acid as I've seen in a cinema in a long time.

I thought it was damned average! Even Charlize didnt help it, which is saying somethign!

Agreed, it lived up to the trailer for me, which I thought was shite and others were raving about.

You're not allowed to say you don't like it in Oz - I made that mistake, although I was at a party with a number of people who worked for one of the effects companies' when I said it, which was kinda dumb.
-

I didn't like the trailer, was dragged to the movie, farkin' loved it.

Ah crap, now I can't say it in Wellington either.

Saw The Gift last night. It's one of those old school thrillers about a couple who bump into an old school classmate of the male who turns out to be a bit off. Was pretty decent.
-
