Changes from the Taranaki game - Hooker Malu and Ruru added. Roache in for Solofa Silipa.
Faiane, Trainor, Renata, Manu, Akira Ioane not appearing in preseason, maybe resting injuries , so will be going into the season cold. Also no sign of Fa'atiga Lemalu so likely he won't be returning from England. No sign of Hawaii Ahokovi in preseason, maybe injured also? -

@KiwiMurph Haven't seen him in club teamsheets for a while, so I assume so.
Be interested to see if Taufa Funaki and Zarn Sullivan get much game time.

These guys will play the U19 tourney first and foremost.
Unlikely to get a crack unless injury hits in a big way.

@Tim proooobably not. The last time Auckland threw U19 players in was 2017 when Auckland weren't tracking all that well so....might as well give the young fellas some experience - hot off their tournament winning exploits that year. Plummer, Clarke, Faiane, Havili all had a run that year.
Sotutu was named in a game but never got on.
That was a bit of a purple patch for talent coming through. Probably won't see a group like that come through together for a while. -

Weather was cold and wet in the first half. Sun trying to break through now, hopefully sticks around for the second.
Both teams using the ball despite the conditions.
Ruru playing well.

Good try for the Orcs. No.8 makes big metres off the base of the scrum and then spread wide and the left winger with no number on his back scores.
Orcs up 19-14

Now another Orc try after a loose offload by HB inside their own half. Same no number winger.
