Went to that game. Converted Fekitoa's last minute try. 🙂

              From the Guardian -
Wales will be without one of their most experienced and influential forwards in the World Cup after their Lions No 8 Taulupe Faletau suffered a broken collarbone in training this week.

Wales have got used to life without the 72-cap Faletau who was a virtual ever-present in the side after making his debut in 2011 until he joined Bath five years later. He has started only two Six Nations matches in his three seasons in the west country having suffered knee and arm injuries.

The 28-year-old has not played for Wales since the end of the 2018 Six Nations campaign, twice suffering a broken arm last season to restrict his starts for the club to five, but his absence will be felt even if back row is one of their better stocked positions.

“The injury was sustained in an innocuous training ground incident and will require surgery,” said Wales in a statement. “A prognosis and return to play timeframe will be established after surgery. The Wales squad and management wish Taulupe the very best with his recovery.”

                  Bollocks.

But could have been much worse.

                  AWJ for example.

@Daffy-Jaffy bummer. Worst way to go out - to get so close, and then a shitty training round injury

@MiketheSnow He hasn't been available for a while and Wales have been fine. Still a blow but could be worse like you said. Lots of depth at loose forward.

Interesting wording. A little dig from the WRU?

I always liked Faletau as a player.

DMac looks to be well on the road to recovery. Could he potentially make the playoff games if either BB or Richie gets injured?

@akan004 I think you'll find his issue will be not being able to move laterally on that knee for a while still (e.g. step).

South African Rugby have announced that Swys de Bruin has stepped down from his role as attack consultant to the Springboks, with just over a month to go until the World Cup.

De Bruin made the request for “personal and medical reasons” and wished the team every success for the global tournament.

The 59-year-old, who is also the Lions boss, joined the national set-up ahead of the 2018 June Tests and has helped oversee an improvement in the side.

However, the former Sharks academy coach left the Lions’ New Zealand tour earlier in the year due to a stress-related illness and has now decided to end his time at the Boks.

“Swys made a great contribution to the squad in his time with us and I’d like to thank him on behalf of his fellow management and the players he has worked with in the past 12 months,” said Rassie Erasmus, SA Rugby’s director of rugby.

“He brought a fresh perspective to one facet of the game and he’ll be hard to replace. I’d also like to thank the Lions Company PTY for releasing him to us and SA Rugby for supporting his appointment.”

De Bruin left the squad following the draw with New Zealand and has not been involved in the preparations for the match in Salta or this weekend’s Test against Argentina at Loftus Versfeld.
