    Seconded by MvJ. This is not a forum to talk about cakes and pies. [/quote]<br />
    <br />
    but yet you're more than happy to discuss various strategies of injecting flavour into your stir-fry chicken, Emma?  :nta Double standards, methinks. :whistle:

    Emma has been a mild-mannered mod for this forum so far RB. Let us not anger her <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

    Emma also doesn't understand the double standard. Posters are free, and indeed encouraged, to discuss healthy food in this forum.

    Red Bull accepts Captain Millers point, and is duly admonished :happy: Additionally, profound apologies are extended.

    Thursday 19 July 2006:<br />
    <br />
    31min at a healthy pace on the treadmill (5km)<br />
    30mins leg weights, not too strenuous, I don't want to embarrass myself in front of all the gym junkies.<br />
    <br />
    Breakfast: two slices of wholemeal toast with marmite<br />
    Lunch: Lentil stew with veges, a toffee pop, an apple and two wholegrain crackers<br />
    Dinner: One-pot chicken and rice with veges, <br />
    <br />
    Snacking: NONE<br />
    <br />
    Total weight lost since log began (1 week): bupkis.  Is this normal or should I be concerned?

    Nah it's normal Barn, the body doesn't always burn fat straight away. Give it some time.

    <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> It's done exactly as it's been told so far.  Was very sore the day after the 16km run but I woke up today feeling very refreshed.<br />
    <br />
    You're right though, my body knows the only time I run is to get to the pub in time to see the haka.  Poor thing must be very confused.

    It'll be a victory when I can wear my belt  <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /><br />
    <br />
    Thursday 20/7: 8km run, 56mins.  Pushed myself over the last 2km and found I had a bit in reserve which was good.  Seemed twice as long as I had "You ain't going nowhere" by the Byrds stuck in my head.  Being 2mins long, I sang it approx. 28 times.  :tickedoff:<br />
    <br />
    Breakfast: NONE (get up when your alarm tells you you lazy FluffyBunny)<br />
    Lunch: Leftover lentil stew from yesterday.  Joy!<br />
    Dinner: Just about to make me a chicken salad roll for dinner then off to work<br />
    <br />
    Snacking: Two wholegrain crackers, two toffee pops, one stick of celery.<br />
    <br />
    It was 6 degrees during my run, this must make it fucking difficult.  My lower legs felt like lead weights the whole way.  My jatz crackers have gone into hiding, not even a gentle 10min massage in the shower could coax them out.  Poor little battlers, hope they know their way home.<br />
    <br />
    Buy me a flute and a gun that shoots, tailgates and substitutes, strap yourself to a tree with roots, you ain't going nowhere, oooo eee ride me high, tomorrow's the day my bride's gonna come, oh oh are we gonna fly down in the easy chair  :whistle:

    Mate this is good stuff. Keep it up. Good  to hear you had sometjing in reserve, thats the test of how much progress you have made as a runner. <br />
    <br />
    Pain is weakness leaving the body - great mantra<br />
    <br />
    <br />
    Am apparently helping a chick train for a half marathon - but its next month and she seems very uncommitted. Oh well, its run to torture unfit people.

    Cheers Squirrel.  I'm in a similar position to you, got two chicks as "training partners".  However they are a lot fitter than me, in every sense of the word.<br />
    <br />
    Still, if we cross the line together in September I look forward to a high five, possibly a hug and a bit of frotting.<br />
    <br />
    Tomorrow is shaping as a potential killer.  Free all-you-can-eat pizza lunch, then a wine and cheese function in the evening which will probably be the springboard for a massive piss up culminating in a pie and a kebab at 4am.  It will be a stern test of my self-discipline, one I am fully expecting to fail.

    If you're just going to have more than one of each day then you've as much time as you like to prepare for this bloody run!  <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

    When you're running as fast as I am, one day blurs into another.  <br />
    <br />
    <br />
    <br />
    <br />
    <br />
    Or something like that.
