Let's face it boys, even Hayne is starting to get the shits with it all:

http://www.news.com.au/sport/american-sports/jarryd-hayne-every-man-and-their-dog-has-been-interviewed-about-me/story-fnq2nnu6-1227523853557

Hayne was described as “frustrated” and “a little edgier and snappier” by reporters who interviewed him inside the San Francisco 49ers locker room on Saturday (AEST).

The rugby league convert, who remains in the dark about whether he will make his NFL debut against the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday, has been extremely professional while dealing with the media since his pursuit of a roster spot at the 49ers really picked up steam a month ago.

He’s consistently refused to buy into all the adulation that has been directed his way, been careful never to directly compare the NFL to his former home in the NRL and said all the right things about how much he still has to learn about the nuances of the American game.

“I know you are always looking for a storyline so I have to be careful with what I say and how I say it,” Hayne told reporters on Saturday.

Because of the intense fascination with his story, anyone with a connection to Hayne, Australia and the NFL, or the 49ers have been quizzed about his transition. And he’s noticed.

“Every man and their dog has been interviewed about me,” Hayne said.

“Everyday there’s someone new or someone who has had something to do with me. For me, like I said. I don’t control that. That’s what you guys are doing, not me. That’s not my thing.”

Asked if he thought the hype would die down now he’s made San Francisco’s 53-man roster, Hayne was unsure. “That’s up to you, not to me,” he said. “You’re the ones holding the cameras and asking the questions. So, that’s out of my control.”

Hayne’s patience was tested further today when one reporter asked him when he was going to showcase his famous “Hayne plane” celebration. For a man who knows full well his chances of even getting on the field in the season-opener remain in limbo, it was hard not to bite. “I don’t know mate, I’m not worried about that,” he said.

That very article goes on to cover "HAYNE'S FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS!" which was previously covered here:

http://www.news.com.au/sport/american-sports/jarryd-hayne-has-a-list-of-first-world-problems-since-moving-to-the-nfl/story-fnq2nnu6-1227521487351

I'm shocked that there hasn't been an article relating to an increased number of de-gloved penis injuries among NRL fans and/or media, to be honest.

Its great for the NFL that they're getting coverage, and I have no problem with the market being opened up, or Hayne being news multiple times per week. But the NRL still have a game to run back here, and they've got their finals on, so I reckon they need to make sure they're not missing the local story.

After all, once NRL finishes there will be a few months of NFL to cover in that sort of depth. And if they're going to do that, they might as well continue to give a bit of time to the other guys playing NFL while they're at it.

I would say that Hayne has definitely worked harder, yes. Punting is a skill, sure, but it is a repetitive motion that is easy to pick up if you played AFL (Rocca) or came up through US colleges (like Wing).

Hayne had to learn a whole raft of skills, as well as learn the playbook and the routes and the formations etc. He had none of these skills when he started.

The guys who are kickers are impressive for sure, but this is a whole new level of achievement, regardless of who he was before 2015. The fact he's a Dally M medallist only makes it more interesting.

Skills like catch and run? Lower your body position?

No fucking doubt the playbook stuff is difficult, and that deserves applause. I've given it.

But you're severely underestimating how big the transition is for kickers, going from e.g. a Sherrin to the pointy seed used in the NFL, and the physiology differences to suit the reasons behind punting.

Hang time and the RIGHT distance, and the accuracy required, to be produced in any situation on a narrow field. The goal appears to be not to hit a team mate on the chest - who can run a lead on a field 140m wide in the AFL - but to isolate the runner without sending it too far into their end of the field.

Second Vikings punt ends up in the seats, Hayne running on the spot (trying to keep warm?) as he goes to the sideline. Welcome to special teams in the NFL.
