Just finished Narcos, thought it was very good, obviously Escobar was a peice of work, but think he was painted in a lighter way in this I thought.

Netflix is producing 12 new episodes of Black Mirror.

Well Vikings fans, I geeked it up a bit today and went to the Sydney comicon (ostensibly for work, but in reality so I could check out cosplay girls ;)), anyway, Rollo (sadly not Lagertha) was one of the guests who did a Q and A that I watched. He seems like a good bloke, doesn't really look as hulking without his long hair, long beard and viking chain mail and animal skin cloak. Basically the entire time he only had girls ask him questions, no blokes whatsoever.

He chatted about filming, the costumes and costume design, how it was well written for women (which got him lots of cheers), and how he was always a Viking nerd and new many of the myths and Ivar the Boneless was always his favourite (and will have a more prominent role in the upcoming season). He talked about how budget constraints often changed battle scenes for the better.

For the MacGyver fans out there, Richard Dean Anderson was the final speaker of the day but I'd left by then so no tidbits sorry (or comments about his girth) - I was never really that big a fan, it used to annoy me that when he disarmed someone who didn't use the gun to keep ahead of the situation.
-

Watched the first two eps of Bastard Executioner last week while off work sick.

As expected from the reviews I read it was a bit corny in parts in trying to rush the scenario setting. I guess Sutter has places he wants this story to go to quickly because the set up itself could have been better done as a first series itself rather than cramming everything in and trying to introduce all the characters. I guess that comes from the network demands of trying to capture an audience quickly.

Full of Sutter type gratuitous gore. You think he would have run out of 'shock' after SOA but has just shifted with guns being replaced by steel.

I'm going to stick with it for a while as I'm a sucker for medieval stuff and it has promise but I'm not sure how long I'll give it to live up to that promise.
-

You went to comicon.

Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd.

Um any pics of hot cosplay chicks?

Nah, I'm not that creepy fulla trying to take a photo of every chick in the place - as an FYI there are much better looking non 'official' cosplay chicks than the official ones. Surprisingly there were probably as many females as males there.

So, no picks of cosplay chicks, but I did see some boobies at the beach today while out on my daily walk if that helps. ;)
-

Ep 3 of Bastard Executioner is rubbish. Will be a struggle to keep giving it chances at this rate.

Finally caught up on Mr Robot and went back in this thread to read the spoilers
I didn't get the Fight Club reference but I've not seen it so by ep8 I was hung up on the Star Wars references. ;)
Glad I'm not as clever as Tim or I would have stopped watching early on. If I had known it was going down this path I probably wouldn't have continued. I was liking it more for the surface story than the underlying 'clever' one.
-

watched a mini-series called Tut, was ok.

Ben Kingsley was pretty average I thought, stars were Sibylla Dean and Kylie Bunbury!

Started on S2 of Gotham, still waiting for more on Batman, introduction of a couple more villains, one particularly tidy one (as well as Gordons ex) is always good
