Given he was identified as a potential All Black First-Five yesterday, I wonder if we will see Jordie Barrett at 10 for the Canes next year.

If JGB is all we've got I'd give Jordie a couple of runs in 10 just to see what happens

Yeah JGB was horrible last night. All over the place with his passing and kicking. Massive worry for the Canes.
I expect better from someone that has been in Super Rugby for three years now.

@Canes4life If Lima's club are keen to offload him because they think he is a bust then we should try to make that happen. Get him home, back on a kiwi diet and lots of hours on the stair master and our problems will be less
@canefan yeah a fit Lima is All Black quality, something JGB and F Smith are not.

Someone brought up in the Comments section of that Article the possibility of Debreczeni if reports are to be heard he hasn’t got a contract next year what everyone’s thoughts on him?

He's off to Japan, otherwise the Chiefs would re-sign him.

I think the Canes are in trouble next season as far as playmakers go. Shame as the rest of the squad looks strong.

Classic Canes, our timing is always off. I think we are still strong enough to reach Semis and above though, however that will only happen if we keep our main forwards fit i.e. Coles, Ardie, Lomax etc.

@canefan I'd rather see them give the starts to Fletcher Smith. Smith still has the potential for improvement while JGB already reached his (very low) ceiling about 2 years ago. Smith showed a lot of promise at the end of the 2019 season.
@Stargazer I agree re Garden Bachop, I was willing to give him time to showcase his talent but unfortunately, he just isn't cutting it. I would go with Fletcher Smith aswell and hope he doesn't repeat his performances from this year when he played at 10.

@Canes4life Don't forget the locks. I reckon Scrafton will show some real improvement at the Canes. If he steps up and stays fit, Canes could have a pretty decent scrum.
@Yeetyaah That's if Plumtree gives him a crack. Remember he still thinks Blackwell is a Super Rugby level lock.

They should give McClutchie a shot, was netter than Falcon last year and Falcon is a three year Super player (mostly injured). Invest in a young guy before he winds up at the Highlanders with Fakatava.
