    Peaky Blinders starts again tonight here in NZ. Can not wait!!!

    TBH, I can as I thought the previous season was actually pretty dud.

    :::

    It actually really annoyed me as they were portrayed as this family from a tight knit impenetrable community and they could just button down the area. Instead a bunch of American gangsters standing out like a sore thumb could find them everywhere and anywhere they went and half the time they chose not to have bodyguards with them. Plus, Adrien Brody did his usual unwatchable over acting.

    :::

    You don't have to watch it though?

    I don't even know who Adrien Brody is but I don't get into movies and TV like you.

    Hey, I'm just giving my opinion. 😉 I really enjoyed the show up until the previous season where I felt it completely lost its way ... so I'll still probably watch the first episode to see if they've returned to previous standards.

    Brody was the main American gangster.

    The American Italian dude?

    Yep. Well the British Italian American dude to be pacific.

    I thought it was pretty good but seemed to go for a deliberate non ending ending to the season. Bacon is great, the uber Bostonianness of it is great, Voodoo Tatum from Friday Night Lights is good too, good to see Sarah Shahi have a more prominent role as the season went on.

    I had to check who you were referring to here, as I've never seen that show. I remember him as the kid from Die Hard With A Vengeance.

    You touched on my main criticism, an anti-climatic ending after the tension was building with the investigation and the relationships between the main characters.

    Great show. I had no idea he was in Die Hard with a Vengeance but I don't think I've watched that since the 90s.

    I think the ending would have been worse if it was a one and done series, but as it's coming back it doesn't bother me as much. The credits for this show were odd, one actor was in the main credits despite exiting early in the series and Shahi was listed as a guest despite playing a prominent role as the series went on.

    Binged on When They See Us this weekend. Mini series about the Central Park Five.

    I knew the story and found it a bit meandering at times, other half didn't know the story and was enthralled.

    Pretty staggering and just utterly mystifying what went on at times. Some pretty strong characters to survive through that eh.

    @Nepia Aldis Hodge was in a later Die Hard movie too. 😀

    Having a quick scan through the cast of FNL that's an impressive list.

    I haven't watched the most recent Die Hard and can't remember a thing about the previous one - in my head there's only three. 🙂

    Anyone else had a look at Pennyworth?

    Which tells the story of Alfred Pennyworth before he starts working for Thomas Wayne.

    watched ep 1 and looks like it will be worth continuing.

    oh, and @antipodean i am half way through the new Last Chance U season. Fuuuuuuck it's a tough watch. Jason is such a giant douche!

    Yeah I couldn't watch it all right through. Massive train wreck.

    Ditto. Same issues remain unresolved and the team results reflected it. As soon as their season was a write off I stopped watching. Unbelievable that that clown is paid to head up a football programme.

    Finished season two of Mindhunter - even better than season one. Set up nicely for another season.

    Looks interesting so will definitely watch. I think I've only seen the movie once when it was released.

    Speaking of Netflix, I watched all of The Umbrella Academy last week. Enjoyable.

    The final season of Legion finished last week too. This is not your typical Marvel TV series and was one of the most unique shows out there. Trippy.

    Watching House on haunted hill at the moment, very enjoyable, a lot of work has gone in to build tension rather than rely on straight out gore or cheap scares.

    So, read the book, seen the movie, watched the series, now try the pie?

    Just finished The Boys

    :::

    Gotta love a bit of the good old ultraviolence. Favorite bits were in the 6th and 7th episodes. The using the baby as a weapon in episode 6, and the 8 year flashback in episode 7 when the 2 kiwi actors are talking to each other so Homelander says to Butcher "I like your accent." Genius

    Has anyone watched Good Girls on Netflix? Decent storyline, 2 sisters and a friend who decide to hold up a grocery store because they are desperate for money. Of course it all goes pear shaped but heads off in unexpected directions. It’s a decent watch.

    Oh, one of the sisters is Christina Hendricks. Maybe I should have led with that.

    Yep. Know your market.
    @mokey basically advertises on here by being a bi sexual, porn author. Very clever really (and we all want to believe it).
