That back three when Trainor gets back is going to be crazily good for Mitre 10 level.

Hopefully we stick to that starting half combination.

And obviously Dalton gets through a ton of work.

Just need to get another good lock from somewhere, thatโ€™s the big hole.

@Duluth Nah give them an extra week. ๐Ÿ™‚

You should worry about Otago first. Apparently their reserve 15 is a gun

Yeah I was wrong - Auckland had enough ticker to win and get the bonus point.

Going to need to up their game several notches though.

Man that 1st half was a horrible watch with mistakes galore and awful discipline from both sides /the ref having no control of things out there. Can't believe we managed to get 5 points out of that game as we were all over the place for most of it.

One of the toughest games to watch this season. The attack from both sides was pretty bad for most of the game.

    The issues at halfback continue.

    @Duluth Hahaha gold!

So Auckland fans, Tusitala or Ruru going forward? Currenty I'd start Ruru but look at injecting Tusitala at around the 45-50 minute mark but that's just me. Either way I wouldn't be too fussed if Tusitala took over the starting role permanently.

    Ruru by default.

Maybe its worth putting Funaki on the bench?

@Nogusta Geez our depth is getting tested at 6. I wasn't overly impressed by Redlinger-Kapa and Choat didn't know what he was doing there (understandably) against Canterbury. I guess Redlinger-Kapa comes back by default.

Good to have Scrafton back. I hope Peter Chanel-Tagaloa stays on the bench as well. He has far more upside than Lane going forward.

@African-Monkey I wonder if Gibson at 6 and Choat at 7 would be a better combo?

@Tim Or even Choat to 8 at scrumtime swapping with Akira. He plays a fair bit there for Waitemata.

@African-Monkey I'm iffy on Tagaloa. He has more upside than Lane, but I might drop him just for that shocking game against Counties. Poor hands, poor discipline and not really a line-out option because he's so big.

The one big gripe I have about him though is that he's one of the main ball handlers in the pods, but he never gives the behind ball to the backs. He's ruined quite a few overlaps the last couple of weeks because he takes the ball up every time. He's not the only one, but he's one of the main culprits for why our attack resembles more of a league attack at the moment.

@Dice Yup I know what you mean I've seen the same stuff too. I feel like he's a rough diamond who'll get better in time. His lineout definitely needs working on but he has the physical attributes to go far and is worth perservering with in the long run.
