<p>What I saw was a bloke who was used to identifying space, making a quick decision, and putting in a good effort. That's bread and butter for someone like Hayne, with the added benefit of blockers. He must love that shit.</p>

<p>The 49ers Special Teams coach has made comment about Hayne as punt returner vs kick returner</p>

<p>“Jarryd is our best punt catcher,†McGaughey said.</p>
<p>“He fields the ball naturally. I mean, you saw the one he caught over his shoulder in the pre-season game.</p>
<p>“The first ball he put on the ground was the one he did in the game. Since heâ€s been here I hadnâ€t seen him drop one in practice.â€</p>

<p>So week 4 kicks off the NFL's London series with Jets V Dolphins on Sunday (UK time) and with the RWC going on the two sports will no doubt get compared by all the journos from Yankeeland and Pomgolia. NFL will struggle this weekend for media time in UK due to England V Australia on Saturday night (UK time).</p>

<p>49ers with another horrible offensive performance - their worst offensive game since 1964 apparently. Their defense played quite well against the best QB in the game Rodgers but their offense has so many problems - their offensive line is trash, their coordinator looks overmatched and Kaepernick looks he is close to being spent as a starter in 49er-land. A few more weeks of this and something will give.</p>

<p>In other notable results, the giants beat the Bills (who had a few players out injured), the Skins beat the Eagles to leave Philly 1-3, Rams beat the high-flying Cardinals and Houston's QB back and forth continues with Hoyer replacing Mallett. </p> -
<p>Lottery hopefuls San Francisco got humbled today by their rival Seattle Seahawks 20-3 on TNF. Jarryd Hayne was not active for the game, so Australia can use that as the reason the 49ers lost. Starting to think the Hayne Plane is struggling with the stop/start/stop/start/stop/tv break/timeout break/start/no stop tv break again/start/stop nature of the NFL.</p>

The head coach who's name I can't remember is panicking because he's probably going to be fired after one season and couldn't wait for Hayne to develop.</p>

<p>Oh hell yes. Salaries are peanuts (comparatively, maybe a Super Rugby salary), the final (Grey Cup) is still traditionally the biggest TV audience annually, and it's a good place to get your foot in the door making a career transition to professional wrestling. (Hey, it worked for The Rock.)</p> -

<p>Isn't it strictly contract? Was watching a doco on some Aussie punters over there and they were week-to-week propositions. One guy shifted among three teams in one season, basically as a backup. Lived out of a suitcase but rented these massive fucking houses with what he earned.</p> -
<p>Punters and kickers are usually paid on a week to week basis but Hayne was a running back and there are probably incentives he earned (like making the match day squad etc).</p>

<p>It is all falling apart for the 49ers. Not only did they lose Bush for the season on one of the first punt returns (what was he doing returning punts when he's the starting RB?), they lost back up RB Mike Davis as well and Hayne's replacement was useless.</p>

<p>Doubt they will win another game this season. If one of their rivals really wants to fuck the 49ers over they'll claim Hayne who knows the play book (although that isn't much) but more likely he is re-signed immediately after clearing waivers. Odds are hot that the head coach will be fired in the next four weeks imo.</p>

<p>Crazy day in the NFL. Drew Brees beat Eli Manning in a shoot out with 7 TDS (!) to Eli's 6, Aaron Rodgers was held to only 77 passing yards, Le'veon Bell looks done for the season with a knee injury while Steve Smith is done for his career with a knee injury, and the Denver Broncos seem legit contenders despite Peyton finally showing his age.</p>
