Lets make Sauran an old white man in a suit with a swastika patch and have trans Gimli with a multicoloured beard shack up with black non-binary legolas.
Burn. It. All. Down...and hope sanity can come back from the ashes.
But it wouldn't make any difference. The show would lose a bundle but the woke would consider that a price well worth paying. Especially since it wouldn't be themselves paying it.

@jegga I feel so much stupider having read that. NZ is a backdrop, it's not 'NZ' so it makes no sense whatsoever to have a kuia with moko. If RM is so desperate to see more of this on screen, she could of course get together with some of her creative pals and develop a script of some Maori myths and legends, or books written by Maori authors. On a side note, there are plenty of fantasy series with witches and wise women and female warriors etc. Again, why not push for that being made instead of fucking with Tolkein. On a second side note, several of the comments said this series is set before the time of the wizards, so 'Gandalf' isn't even in it.

This sort of news related and proof that I have spent far too much time on this site.
I was watching the weather forecast on TB the other night and it was going to get cold. It did. The presenter then said that it was too early to put the fluffy bunny slippers away.
I sniggered, wife asked why- reply- "nothing darling".I then had to leave the room as I had visions of opening the front door to someone with vaginas on my feet. Thanks fluffybunnies.
