Movie review thread...

I was actually going to Rambo this afternoon but the timing didn’t fit so went to Ad Astra instead. Of the 6 of us who went we were evenly split between liked it (me included) and hated it.
It’s a pretty slow film punctuated with action every so often. Pitt is having a good ‘acting’ year with this and Once ....

Watched it today and quite enjoyed it.

Really? That CGG looks crap. Give me ToraToraTora, or Waterloo any day. Looks like a flag waving PR piece.
Early days for cgi, that’s better the closer to the actual release date.

Bad Neighbours.
Standard Rogan. Average movie with some hilarious moments, and his obligatory few scenes about casual drug use.
Probably only a 2, but I'm going to give it a 3 purely down to the airbag and Rogan/Efron fight scenes

A trusted friend saw the new Rambo movie and claimed that it was nearly as good as Taken.
If you're saying that to put any of us off, you have failed.

That would be a unique set of skills.

@Catogrande How could you post here for a decade and not know how much I love Taken and similarly underrated b-movies?

It is true, I have noticed that. Together with a high degree of sarcasm. It sometimes leaves me confused.

Don’t you dare call Taken a b-movie.

Saw Ad Astra last night, should have been my sort of film. Was just dull, but pretty. Kind of like Pitt really.
Which I had seen Rambo, but it was the wife’s turn to pick.
Life. Encapsulated.

Annabelle: Creation
Watched this on Netflix and thought it was pretty well done. For scary movies less is definitely more, if you leave a lot to the imagination then it can be super creepy. Cheesy shots of some demon looking creature ruin it for me a bit. For the most part this movie does that well and there’s plenty of pretty intense scenes.
