160,000 readers of BBC Sport select their all time Rugby World Cup XV. A good team but Steve McDowell at Loose head for me.

So Lomu, O'Driscoll and Blanco the only ones to never be part of a RWC winning squad. I wonder who else makes the all time never won one team.

Os du Randt won two world cups at loosehead, i reckon he absolutely pisses in to that spot. Deadset legend.

Not sure about the blindside either, there are a few blokes around who have played bloody well in WC winning teams. Pienaar has the best story though, and is the only one with his own movie.

BOD is a bullshit call too given what the Irish have done in a World Cup

The squad is literaly picking on numbers (aside from Nonu/O'Discoll for some reason) both Pienaar and McCaw are opensides.

Zinny a tough one. While his droppies in 1995 were legendary and he was one of my favourite Auckland/Blues/ABs growing up...

He was essentially a dirt tracker in 1987 and missed the first half of 1995 that puts a lot of stock in the 1991 losing effort and the back half of 1995. Outisde of BOD, Lomu and Blanco the only one not to play in a winning RWC final? Surely Read/Dellaligio are a cut above.

@rotated yep agreed. Read has had 2 very good campaigns for 2 wins. Dayglow was instrumental in 2003. Zinny a more talented player than both, but on World Cups only that misses the mark.

For me Finegan in 99 is a good shout for the 6 jersey. But again, Kaino was bloody good in two cup wins...

People that don't know that Saffas that don't know the number for an openside?

These teams are pretty daft anyway as the best players aren't always RWC winners and there are plenty of great players who weren't that great / never won in RWC. One hell of a lot of All Blacks for 24 years for example.

Lomu and Dussautoir probably the best performing RWC players who were non-RWC winners.

A no-brainer for me too. Leonard became like Mtawarira is now, a professional sub who plays limited minutes. He didn't even start in the 2003 RWC final, and only came on in ET. You don't get selected for long service!

But then I thought it was worth leaving just to agree with @gt12 .

Kaino should walk this, best player in the world in 2011 and still one of the top ABs in 2015.

@mariner4life You'll manage, back yourself, prepare well.

All of that shit. I'm going into coaching.

Kaino should walk this, best player in the world in 2011 and still one of the top ABs in 2015.

So, i've just realised the final is the same day as Derby Day. After a full day at Flemington i am not sure i am even going to be able to see a TV at 8pm

You don't like rugby anyway so what's the problem?
