Difference could be Farrells boot, lack of consistency at 10 and goal kicking could bite the convicts. To be fair I think the tight 5 is going very well with good props which is hard to say.

It really just comes down to which Wallabies side turns up, Perth version wins, Eden Park version gets destroyed.

It would take a small miracle for Aussie to steal this one (pun intended) but having said that if there is one game they can get up for it's the Poms. Biggest concern is the tight 5 and their 12s lack of a distribution game (Farrell will just knock him over all day).

Doesn't seem clear to anyone I'd say. Foley is out of form. Lealiifano doesn't appear to be able to make the step up. Toomua too often plays like the second five-eighth he is.

That being said, I'd play White, Toomua, Kerevi and JOC

That’s their best line for sure.

Does Hodge come straight back in?

One of those two actually seems like a decent bloke (and coach).

I think he will for Petaia with DHP at fullback if Beale isn't fit.

@antipodean you are probably right, but I would take a punt on Petaia. He seems one hell of a talent and the poms won't know too much about him.

I didn't think the Wallabies would beat England in 2015 either, and they flogged the fuck out of them.

I reckon this will be tight as hell. If the Wallabies can stop Tuilagi galloping over the advantage line, they are a big hope.

Yep and if they play Toomua and Kerevi together then there is a decent chance they just might do so.

On the flipside England will need to stop Koroibete and Kerevi from galloping over the advantage line as well. If the Wallabies forwards can slog their guts out to get some parity those two can wreck havoc.

Yep, I think there's a potential weakness in between Ford and Farrell - a bit wide out to be properly covered by the English loosies - that Kerevi should be looking to exploit all day. I'm also wondering if they might be tempted to start with Kerevi and Kuridrani in midfield to take on England at their own heavy duty, bash and crash game.

                          England by 15.

For me now, England are cup favourites. I've watched Jones build their team and been quite impressed. They are big, physical and did I mention big?

Their achilles heel going in to this RWC was the fact they had to play 5 tough games in a row. Argies, French, QF, SF, Final. I thought that would be too much for the players, unless Eddie was able to effectively rotate subs. With the Argies game proving rather easy, and the French game canned, the ball really is in their court.

I think they'll destroy Australia, 15 point start, and then the SF they will be absolutely primed.

@MajorRage That's actually a reasonable attempt to put the curse on, but I would counter that with our lack of consistency, particularly in the second half of games. We have squandered some prime positions over the last 18 months or so and I don't see that Eddie has managed to fix that just yet.

That betrays the fact that the inconsistency and inconvenient lapses are more mental than anything. And who would be better placed - dare i say it, have the arrogance - to overcome such historic mental deficiencies than an Englishman?

Not being able to execute at all times, when fatigue or pressure comes along is indeed a mental issue.

As to your second sentence, as a nation we only really have the one deficiency - we are sometimes too modest. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

@booboo so the best you can say is he's infused them with a sense of persecution.

Not sure he's developed an overwhelmingly positive environment.

I would take Coleman on the bench rather than two loosies.

Australia were very impressive in the 2nd half against Wales when To'omua took the ball to the line and they used Rodha, Arnold/Coleman, Naisarani and co as ball-runners. If the forwards put in a similar performance and they can play at the same tempo Australia has the game to beat England.
