I'm not sure lack of complacency or otherwise will be the issue. Japan will bring what they bring. It may not be enough to get them past the QF, but they will be a handful for anyone, Boks included.

Think South Africa will record their first ever RWC win against Japan.

Joseph needs to get his selections right. Based on their pre-RWC game, Yamanaka needs to start at fullback as you know de Klerk will be putting up those box kicks.

Japan would have burned a lot of physical and emotional energy last night. It's going to be tough to get back up this weekend.

Yeah, with the crowd and country going nuts anything can happen but SA should be far too strong. I will be at the game cheering on Japan! Can't wait!

So far SA have a 0% wn record against Japan, apart from friendlies, which don't count

Go the Brave Blossoms, may the fairytale continue. I think the Saffas will bring their physicality though and with too much on the line this time around should get over the line. Who knows if they have Ben Skeen on the TMO.

Maybe an early red card for a big SA forward (i.e Etzebeth or Vermeulen) could change the probable outcome of this QF.

A red card for any Bok would cause problems.
Same applies to Japan and in fact every team playing in the Quarters.
I really hope cards do not play a role in any of these games - but given the track record to date that is 99% unrealistic.

This is going to be a tough one for the Boks - and not least from a support perspective.
All of Japan will be backing the Blossoms.
And pretty much every neutral fan with a rugby soul will be supporting the Blossoms. As they absolutely should.

The Boks will have to get through this one as the villains.

    You'd be used to that?

But seriously you'd only pick up neutral votes if you were paying us surely? You being next in line for historical dominance and all.

Years of training and conditioning booboo.
Except when we play against Aussie or England. Then sometimes we get some love from the neutrals.
Think it has less to do with us though ... 😄

@antipodean One of the 2 I would have wanted so remind me of that when / if I whinge about him after the game 🙂

(Other one would have been Nigel Owens).

Avoiding Skeeny as your TMO has helped you on this front.

England vs Oz looks most likely to be affected by a red card.
