Wow. That level of detail looking at the Icefall is amazing. Love the way you can get some idea of scale by zooming in at Basecamp. 
 
I have heaps of photos that the wife took while there and even though you know, you simply cannot get the scale right in your head. These mountains are both enormous and close at the same time.

Man - Base Camp must be a disgusting place these days - it's a similar scale to Kaiteriteri camping ground!
 
If you look into the Western Cwm on full zoom you can see a small horde of punters approaching and ascending the Lhotse Face - with some tents perched on the edge of the more broken slope.
 
My brother and I went there in 1989. There was probably only half a dozen people, including us, on Kala Pattar (the hill below where these shots were taken from) that day.

My brother told me a few months ago that the guy who ran that site was a kiwi - apparently he had some classes with him at uni! Still kinda surprised that the website was based here though.

Took me a while to find. I can see a group approaching the bottom of the face then two groups of tents and another string of climbers further up (one climber well out in front as well)

She says her face has changed, she does look different to the photo in the chopper but they did an outstanding job I agree.

All-you-can-eat KFC is a finger lickin' good option - if you can make to Japan.
The chicken chain is opening an all-you-can-eat buffet location in Osaka, Japan, reports<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://en.rocketnews24.com/2015/10/31/kentucky-fried-chicken-set-to-open-all-you-can-eat-buffet-restaurant-in-japan/'>RocketNews</a>.
Customers will pay between $US16 ($NZ24) and $US21 ($NZ30) for 90 minutes of access to a buffet filled with fried chicken as well as about 60 other KFC menu items, including biscuits, coleslaw, rotisserie chicken, and salad. Children's prices will be even lower, and kids under the age of four will eat for free.
The restaurant will be located in the gigantic Expo City entertainment complex, which opens on November 11 on the site where the 1970 World Expo was held.
According to RocketNews, the location has a special significance for KFC. In 1970, the United States pavilion at the World Expo housed the very first Kentucky Fried Chicken trial restaurant in the country.
All-you-can-eat KFC has been an elusive promise for chicken lovers around the world. In September, Japanese KFC locations offered unlimited fried chicken, fries and unlimited drinks for one day to celebrate Colonel Harland Sanders' birthday.
Meanwhile, in the US, a few fabled all-you-can-eat KFC buffets reportedly exist, including one in Banning, California.
