He's on hands and knees, with at least 2 players hanging on to him. That's held.

    What a half kids.

Forget about the score, this is squeaky bum stuff and pressure cooker feel is causing both teams to play the way they don’t want to.

Dealende not held there. Barnes "decisiveness" working for Japan on this occasion

There were Japanese hands on his back when he was on his knees. Correct call.

No way was I expecting it this close on the half. Last 20 will be key and I expect boks to dominate then, Japan can still hold their heads high if that ends up being the case

Can’t see the Japs hanging on, but they are far from being disgraced.

Yeah the Japs won't hold on.
The Japanese will break out in the 2nd half.
The Japs won't be able to handle the pace of the game.

Half time thought. The way the Japanese approach to rugby makes me feel about the great game is a bit like that James Earl Jones speech in Field of Dreams: "And they’ll pass over the money without even thinking about it, for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they’ll walk off to the bleachers and sit in their short sleeves on a perfect afternoon. And find they have reserved seats somewhere along the baselines where they sat when they were children. And cheer their heroes. And they’ll watch the game, and it’ll be as they’d dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they’ll have to brush them away from their faces...

...This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again."

Off his feet, hand on him, has to release.

Only need a hand on him to be held. He releases the ball: play on

Willie must surely be concussed. How do you cop a Peter SDT to the head and not get checked?

And dropping easy ball too. He should’ve had a HIA surely?

It makes a mockery of World Rugby enforcing all these cards for high tackles and him continuing to play after that knee to the head.

Interesting to see how SA play this in the 2nd 40. Bok backs have been very poor, can see them keeping it close and trying to grind them out.

That would prevent a blowout though, and a lucky break or two for Japan and she could be all on.

    The real final.

Nah. SA will be worthy finalists as well.

    Not so fast ke-mo sah-be

    Can't see it Mike.

Your boys struggled past Aussie. Think the Bokke are a class above.

Above what ... I'm not so sure ...

Japan just need a play with quick hands on a Bok rush defender and one of their wingers to be on the receiving end.

Time for some dry powder plays from the Japanese to outwit the Japs' rush defence.
