Is that not obstruction when you roll the maul into no one?

That's truck and trailer isn't it?

Two Bok players rush in and join the side of the maul to drive. Last time I checked the laws any player that joins a maul needs to do so from the back.

@Magpie_in_aus exactly should be a penalty to Japan

Think it’s still the original maul so no obstruction

@junior do you understand the definition of a mail in the laws of the game. Must be an opposition player attached

Its ending the way most of us expected. But the Japanese have done themselves proud, and saffaland was made to work hard

How have they not worked out to throw to the front of the lineout?

    Should’ve gone long I reckon.

This score is flattering SA big time. Doesn't reflect the great effort of Japan.

There are probably four top level teams for forward pack physical power - NZ, SA, England, France. Three have cruised through, and France red-carded themselves.

SA haven't shown much on attack, but they never do really. This has been a pretty dominant performance playing to their strengths. Just haven't let Japan play and their defense has been brutal. Has pretty much gone as expected in the end.

He's on hands and knees, with at least 2 players hanging on to him. That's held.

Only need a hand on him to be held. He releases the ball: play on

Yeah, but.. I've seen plenty like this one let go too.

Like I said somewhere else: want consistency? Don't watch Rugby 😉

Getting a bit ugly for Japan. They have speed, spirit and heart in abundance. But South Africa have had far more precision and power.

Barnes is the ref version of Ireland. Good in off years but not cut out for playoffs.
