I think most on here seem to be calling it for NZ by more than 10. I think it will be less than 7. I think that Eddie has some trick up his sleeve, the win over Oz was fascinating when you look at the stats. Reckon we'll still do it but it might be a nail biter.

The kiwis are confident and expecting their team to win comfortably, in most cases anyway. Who would blame them? But I feel England will be a very very tough proposition. This will be a tight game. If I was a betting man, I'd give this one a skip.

If the Fern is a gauge of AB fans expectations, then I think you’ve missed the mark. I think most were confident against Ireland (I certainly was), but against England there is an unpredictability combined with a solid foundation that will test any side.

Look I can’t even bring myself to say “Bring on En...” Nup, can’t do it.

      We'll beat them by 13+

It’s certainly possible. But if it gets to a grinding stop start sort of game then I can see a similar type game to the Boks match in the RC.

Really looking forward to this clash, since before the competition started in fact. These teams were always on a collision course.

My dilemma is who to support! I love the NZ team and Hansen, great coach and funny guy with his dry wit. NZ fans on the other hand? I'll keep that to myself on here! It's the complete opposite for England. Don't like their team or manager but their fans are grand and they are our neighbours.

        I'll decide on the day!!

Kiwis are confident in winning comfortably? Where do you get this dross from?

Against Ireland, definitely but this is a rugby team for sure we are up against

Well to let you in on a secret, try talking to Kiwis about this game. Most are apprehensive of the English team and realise they are a bit of alright. I understand we are favourites but this will be one of the closest matches of the cup.

Apart from sarcasm on this thread which you may misunderstand, this forum has mostly respect for this English teams and I don't see anyone saying we will win comfortably

Much discussion on the starting forward pack ,
How does everyone expect the bench ( forwards) to be used ,

Are we going to close the game with the two 7s ? how does pat t get used ? He does provide good impact , I’m sure they would like to utilise that in some capacity

We will have a very significant height advantage at the lineout - where we have four genuine lineout jumpers - where England only has two - and Itoje is a pretty short lock. If we can make this count, we could push Eddie into having to sub one of his fast flankers early and push Itoje to blindside. IF we're able to turn our height advantage at the lineout into steals and everything else is going well, then I think the introduction of Cane (for Barrett) will be delayed - maybe to around 60 minutes - otherwise they may make that change at halftime. I'll be surprised if Patty T. gets more than 15 minutes - in the event of an early injury to one of our starting locks, I think they'd shift Barrett to lock initially and bring on Cane.

In the scrum, I think my big worry would be an early injury to Joe Moody - our bench props' scrumming worries me, but if Nepo were to go down early, I'd be inclined to send Ofa out to play tighthead, which would be solid. I'd be really worried if Ta'avao was asked to play 60+ minutes.

Aside from that, we need to knock their big ball carriers down quickly, be very disciplined and deny Farrell opportunities to push the scoreboard along, and be a bit wary of interception opportunities with big, wide skip passes.

Whomever gets ahead with any sort of buffer is likely to be very hard to peg back - so lets hope it's us.

I've really got no idea how this game will play out - especially if we don't dominate their lineout. But, if we do - I think that should be a big step towards us winning.

@Chris-B agree our bench props are a worry, neither the greatest at scrum time, this is where the dropping of Frank's might hurt.
Angus probably the best around the park of all, but picking he won't even be an AB in 2 years time....
Although in saying that I saw my last posts from 2016, and I was picking Frank's to beat GOATS 148 tests. Maybe if that Achilles had not got him!

@BartMan Good to see you putting in an appearance, Bartman!

Yeah - I reckon they should've taken Big Karl and had him and Ofa on the bench for this one. I'm not convinced that a mobile ball-running prop (Angus) is going to offset the risk of a couple of scrum penalties to England.

I was thinking Owen was a good prospect of going to four World Cups, but I think Sam Whitelock is the only prospect of that now.

@The-Irishman I think whichever team makes the final will be smashed to pieces. I think Boers will win comfortably, and whoever makes it through will be hard pressed to win.

And I am by no means confident of beating the South Sea English team 😉

@Chris-B yes big Karl back next year, he should never have gone to Blues, Moli and the world's first Muslim prop to be the 3 next cans in the rank after Nepo and Joe. Hell of a ride for Angus though the last 2 years!

This was always the crunch game for me between the two best sides in the world (yes, England are better than SA, no matter what you SH folk believe). Who ever wins will most certainly win the cup I feel.

The kiwis are confident and expecting their team to win comfortably, in most cases anyway. Who would blame them? But I feel England will be a very very tough proposition. This will be a tight game. If I was a betting man, I'd give this one a skip.

From every forum, here, back home, youtube, facebook, Twitter, need more? That's where I'm getting this "dross" from.

Apart from sarcasm on this thread which you may misunderstand, this forum has mostly respect for this English teams and I don't see anyone saying we will win comfortably

Are you fucking kidding me? We practically invented sarcasm 😉

Cool . You’ll understand when I say I’m really looking forward to Ireland meeting Australia.

                        In the departure lounge .

Because it’s the number 1 sport we tend to have a lot of casual type fans , don’t follow it that closely , bandwagon types , and are just so used to winning they take it for granted. And are more likely to be hanging out in public forums spouting bullshit .

Then we have a lot of more knowledge fans who you probably are not likely to meet unless you make a rugby trip to Nz ( or here 🙂 ) these are the more cautious ones with this game ., I can tell you plenty of kiwis are nervous about this game

@The-Irishman if both teams play to thier potential, who wins?

Most kiwis are confident in that IF we play to our potential, we should win; but we know sport isnt that simple, a couple of players have an off day and all of a sudden, we are no where near our potential...the margins are fine, add in the variables of human nature (players and ref) and makes it even more squeaky...

The kiwis are confident and expecting their team to win comfortably, in most cases anyway. Who would blame them? But I feel England will be a very very tough proposition. This will be a tight game. If I was a betting man, I'd give this one a skip.

I get where you're coming from. We're generally confident to the point of over confidence.

And we always expect to win.

The only time I thought we would lose was 1990 v France and we won 24-3.

As above some of us can be a little strident in our support like @kiwiinmelb pointed out.

Not sure you enjoyed our categorisation of Irish as whingers in the lead up to last week. May have tainted your appreciation of us?

I'm picking a win by about 10. But it's 60/40 in my opinion.

Strangely calm about the outcome though. Not like 2011!! Although tension building at the edges as we get closer to kick off.
