I liked the tie in at the end, is that nutter the leader or just a wolf?
-

Note on "MITHC"

Eps 1 and 2 are out there now as 1 was the pilot and 2 was finished to whet appetites at ComicCon. The full series doesn't start (become available?) until 20 November.

You may want to wait until then as I watched the first two and now have a gap.
-

No idea, but that episode last night jumped back a long way (aside form the very end) I mean that scene of him on the track was at the end of ep 1 of last season, and Rick was with him in that little town/village maybe 2 or 3 seasons back?
-

Two recommendations:

Master of None - new Netflix series created by Aziz Ansari (comedian who was in Parks and Rec). Seriously good. A bit like Louie in the sense that the show deals with broad themes in a slightly haphazard manner, but it's not quite as weird and a bit more character driven and diverse. He plays a struggling New York actor, deals really well with issues of family, relationships, ethnicity etc. Last two episodes bring everything to a head really well.

You're the Worst - FXX comedy that was good in season one but has hit another level in season two. About two horrible people who get in a relationship. Very funny but has gotten a fair bit darker in the last few episodes, and it's thoroughly compelling.
-

Cheers. Just grabbed the first season and it's good.
-

TWD - dragging out the story on Glenn, I mean next week they could focus on Darryl and/or Sasha and leave Glenn another week

The fact they didn't even end that ep with him, kinda lends towards there being more to it.
-

yeah the mid-season finale is only 2 eps away?? so spend time with Darryl and Sasha next week, then the next one they return and finish up seeing Glenn, one way or another as the credits roll.

I think I'm going the other way from you. You're the Worst was a funny show with dark-ish themes. However, I just found the latest episode to be meh, wasn't funny and wasn't really great drama either.
Clearly the mental health issue was the one they wanted to tell, but I think they had more stories, and funny ones at that, to tell around the relationship and that group of friends.
I don't have a problem with the writers writing what they want to write but I'm not sure I want to keep watching that show.
-

The Coen brothers haven't written anything for the TV series. Their executive producer credits are probably just a courtesy.

I've found this season to be rather mediocre, especially when the Blomquists are on screen. Here's a pretty good article on this:

The writer had me fooled! Next thing you'll be telling me Fargo isnt based on real life events! ;)
Did you like the first season?
Thanks for sharing that article - cant say I agree with what he thinks though. I like what the writer is trying to achieve.

Really liked the 1st season. Not feeling it this time around. Maybe I'm just a bit grumpy at the moment, or maybe I've seen too much TV this year and am looking for something different.

If anything, I'd say the biggest difference from the film is that in the series you have a bunch of criminal "force of nature baddasses" (a bit like the bad guy from No Country?), whereas in the film you had a bunch of bunglers and doomed idiots. But I definitely need to go back and watch the movie again.
-

Thats mostly what Ive liked about my favourite Coen brothers movies - idiots and how poorly they manage a bad situation leading to further escalation.
I liked the first season but I wasnt convinced by Martin Freeman who almost seemed a bit slapstick-isch to me at times. It probably doesnt help that William H Macy had played the role so well and evoked so many negative emotions out of me.

Foxtel have finally picked up the rights to "Mr Robot" so i watched the first episode on the weekend. Very interesting, i like it. I hope it goes somewhere
