omg this show is so freaking awesome. If you liked the movies, you'll love this. Super cheesy, over the top gore. The effects and cinematography are in exactly the same vein as the originals.
Apparently Starz got the show because they were the only network that would accept an unrated / unrestricted product resulting in a product true to everything the team wanted to achieve.

I've also been enjoying the second season of Fargo very much. I actually prefer it to the first season - wonderful characters, great dialogue, excellent cinematography. The coen brothers are masterful story tellers.

The Coen brothers haven't written anything for the TV series. Their executive producer credits are probably just a courtesy.

I've found this season to be rather mediocre, especially when the Blomquists are on screen. Here's a pretty good article on this:

The writer had me fooled! Next thing you'll be telling me Fargo isnt based on real life events! ;)
Did you like the first season?
Thanks for sharing that article - cant say I agree with what he thinks though. I like what the writer is trying to achieve.

Really liked the 1st season. Not feeling it this time around. Maybe I'm just a bit grumpy at the moment, or maybe I've seen too much TV this year and am looking for something different.

If anything, I'd say the biggest difference from the film is that in the series you have a bunch of criminal "force of nature baddasses" (a bit like the bad guy from No Country?), whereas in the film you had a bunch of bunglers and doomed idiots. But I definitely need to go back and watch the movie again.

Thats mostly what Ive liked about my favourite Coen brothers movies - idiots and how poorly they manage a bad situation leading to further escalation.
I liked the first season but I wasnt convinced by Martin Freeman who almost seemed a bit slapstick-isch to me at times. It probably doesnt help that William H Macy had played the role so well and evoked so many negative emotions out of me.

You'd think so, although it is hard to work out a situation that long after that there'd be that call, unless
my theory is Nick fell on him, zombies started munching then they got distracted (given how many half eaten bodies you see) and left Glen briefly, long enough for him to get into the dumpster that is again surroundef, and they've only just come into range for the walkie-talkie. Cos if he was bitten it has been a day or so?
Loved that show. Really good, stick with it. One of the best things I've watched in ages. Also its adored by IT types as its one of the only shows to actually show accurate hack-cody-stuff (apparently)

yea, that'll wooosh me completely, but if it seems legit, then no worries....

Last night i watched the first episode of something called "Into the Badlands" a bunch of nobodies and that bloke from Shortland St (eat a dick jegga). I think it's supposed to be set in some post-apocalyptic future where there are no guns, just deadly dudes with swords. The fight scenes look fucking fantastic, and i saw some fatalities i have never seen before.

Some hot chicks, no nudity though. The acting is awful, the premise is, well, strained, but i'll probably watch next week to see if there is actually a story, and to see some more dudes get killed stylishly.

But it looks like it is going to suck.

First episode of The Last Panthers was pretty good. Good score by Chris Clark (Warp Records).

Well the theories about Glenn were sorted out, and all sorts of cliffhangers last night too. I think they should feed the dick who tried to climb over the wall to the walkers . He has a death wish anyway.

I don't think Morgan has learned that you don't mess with Carol yet.
