Pretty disappointing that the article slant is more in his volatility than his music innovation.

True, but that’s like an obituary of Elizabeth Taylor and not mentioning the multiple marriages. Ginger had a very difficult time managing relationships, and that’s probably why his recording & performing output is significantly less than it might otherwise have been had he had the ability to work with partners for any stretch of time. His volatility is a huge part of his character. In many respects reminds me of Artie Shaw, a perfectionist musician who had difficulty with relationships. Perfectionists can be geniuses ... and difficult to live & work with.

There's been lots of complete pricks - this bloke was different in that his drumming created modern musical genres.

Only just saw this from last week...

Barry Masters, lead singer from Eddie and the Hot Rods, 'suddenly' @ 63

Saw them play earlier this year and they were still rocking it. Good old pub rock.

Teenage Depression was a great little album. I saw them in 79 at Finsbury Park just before they split

I loved his unreliable memoirs. Funny and sad and very self deprecating. His last Larkin book was very clever. It’s not a surprise he’s gone as he’s been unwell for a while, but sad all the same. RIP Clive.

    Bob Willis

    Mop haired Pommie fast bowler.

Famous for his 8 for 43 in the 'Phoenix from the Ashes' test, and being caught in the gully off Hadlee to give us our first test win v England.

    Prostate cancer. 😞

P.S. on googling I didn't realise Graham Dilley had passed away in 2011 😞

Willis must have been as hard as nails with that run up, action and pace for all those years.

No biomechanics analysis or modern recuperation techniques

    RIP

Some great quotes on the cricinfo eulogy

Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson dies aged 61

Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson dies aged 61

Roxette's Per Gessle has paid tribute to a "wonderful friend" who "painted black and white songs in the most beautiful colours".

I wasn’t a big fan but they had a lot of hits in the 90s

Often wonder if radio stations have the inside knowledge on some of these things that the end is near .. as recently I've been hearing the song joyride an abnormal amount.

As a hardcore bogan-music-only punk in the 90's, I always kind of liked Roxette. Can't explain why.

So much so that in a job where I had to compile and analyse data from Fact Set, I called the database Faxette Joyride as a tribute.

    Hashtag loser.
