Sounds like that rain isn't too far away, better put the hammer down Rossco.

It started pouring here in central Auckland about 30 minutes ago. Shouldn't be far away

I'd say there is time for Ross to get his ton. It's not raining yet.

Three slog sweeps and that's 100 for Rosco. Not a moment too soon

I'm very comfortable with it pissing down from here on leaving our two best players not out in the 100s. Perfect end to the series.

@No-Quarter I missed the Pope drop, but I'm guessing it's not as bad as the one that Denly just dropped off Kane.

You'd get abused for dropping that one in tenth grade! 🙂

I normally keep but once when I was fielding at mid wicket I dropped a catch just like that. The batsmen was so surprised he was half way down the pitch walking off meaning I could easily run him out, so I proceeded to throw the ball way above the keepers head conceding an overthrow. That piece of fielding will stick with me for the rest of my life.

well, although Jeets didnt get time out there, im very happy the rest of our top order has got time out there. Need as much batting time as possible as prep for the next tour. Pity this series doesn't count for WTC.

Looks like there's a couple of hours of rain and they may get back out there late in the afternoon - if anyone can be bothered.

Good to see Kane and Ross both get some runs, though not quite vintage Kane - in that he had two lives and also got clanged solidly on the helmet by Stokes.

The rain is heavy now, and only getting worse later this afternoon. They won't be back on the field.

                                        From cricinfo:

Williamson's hundred was the 299th century for NZ in Tests and now Taylor gets the 300th ton.

So Kane and Taylor now have 40 test tons between them. The next best pair would be Crowe and Wright with 17 and 12 respectively for a total of 29. Alternatively if you allow one partner to be repeated you could have Baz and Kane and Taylor and Kane

Just to reiterate ham special this bunch is, we have three of our top 5 test centuries makers, one more in the top 10, plus Nicholls two tons away from the top 10.

By the time we get to Ross's final test (my guess at the first of our current lineup to retire), we will probably have 5 of our top 6 in the top 10 for most NZ test centuries.
