It's quite amazing, how a sporting event that spans as much as 5 full days, can be so utterly riveting for periods like this.

I saw Hazlewood walking out and just thought “oh fuck”.

I don’t mean for anyone to get injured but as far as jinxes goes that worked.

Just quietly Stark is bloody scary too.

@Chris-B express pace, it just works. And these cnts have control as well

Big difference between them and Ferg is they're about a foot taller so they're getting more and steeper bounce. It's so much more dangerous.

    Yeah, the bounce is terrifying

Tell you what, any prick who gets on these guys for getting out/not performing should give themself an uppercut. The phrase "putting your body on the line" is massively overused, especially in sports like basketball, but these guys are doing exactly that.

    This is absolutely brutal stuff.

Kane's boundary felt like the first loose delivery of the innings

@canefan it’s really annoying how Starc consistently plays like a 1980s West Indian against us and like Heath Davis against anyone else

Was really hoping we'd get the best of the conditions in the day-night test to even things up a bit. But the exact opposite has happened; our quicks had to come out at the hottest part of the day when the ball wasn't doing that much. Their quicks get to come out in the evening with the ball nipping around. Losing Ferg really exasperated that too.

Kane and Ross need to try and leave as much as they can here and really limit the damage. It'll be a different ball game tomorrow at 1PM.

A couple from Starc in that over. Searching for a change up and getting a little loose.

If these guys can just stay in til stumps...then they can spend the whole night shitting themselves about what is coming up.

Also although our depth is better than its been in a long time, we can't replace Boult in the same way we can't replace Kane.
