Rene Auberjonois passed away too. I knew him as Odo in Star Trek: DS9 but he had a long career.

    You never watched Boston legal?

Yes, and it was great, but DS9 was my immediate first thought.

For those who don't remember him in Mash, he was Father Mulcahy in the movie, but not in the TV series.

    Ooh, thatโ€™s good knowledge ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson dies aged 61

Roxette's Per Gessle has paid tribute to a "wonderful friend" who "painted black and white songs in the most beautiful colours".

I wasnโ€™t a big fan but they had a lot of hits in the 90s

Often wonder if radio stations have the inside knowledge on some of these things that the end is near .. as recently I've been hearing the song joyride an abnormal amount.

As a hardcore bogan-music-only punk in the 90's, I always kind of liked Roxette. Can't explain why.

So much so that in a job where I had to compile and analyse data from Fact Set, I called the database Faxette Joyride as a tribute.

    Hashtag loser.

Never apologise for liking the music that you like I reckon. Unless itโ€™s accordions. Fuck that shit.

    that Roxette chick was haaaawt

also, they wrote awesome pop hits. It's a pretty great run of tracks. I unashamedly like nearly all their most well known songs

The term legend gets tossed about a lot, but Snell was the actual BEST of his time. Olympic golds, Commonwealth golds, world records...cos I am a geek for this stuff, I've watched his Olympic races on Youtube quite a few times. The way he just blew away the opposition on the home straight was a thing of beauty.

Not many in the conversation with Sir Peter to be NZ's GOAT.

Before my time but that vision of him putting the hammer down in the Tokyo 800m 1500m awesome. John Davies always said he was sprinting as fast as he could and Snell left him in the cinder dust.

    Found vision:

The thing I always noted about this video was how powerfully built he was for this distance. Would have been a pretty handy rugby player...

    Icon. Legend. Great.

    Danny Aiello

Fantastically talented actor. Under utilised in later years. Do The Right Thing is a stand out as Sal. City Hall too.

Guilty pleasure movie, The Hudson Hawk, he was a high spot in what really is a horribly shit movie.

@canefan Sir Ed, Pinetree and now Peter Snell. They were pretty much the first big sporting names I came across as a kid. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Along with Fergie McCormick because I was in Canterbury.

I think one thing that kind of gets (understandably) overshadowed by the bling, is that Sir Peter had a PhD and was really respected in the field of exercise science over in the USA.

He came to our school when I was a nipper. He seemed massive to us. He was a hero then and he still is now. RIP.
