Bowling first in all three tests. Tough times.

also, didn't Henry used to be quite sharp? Like, in 2015?

I think our tactic should be to try to get this game over inside three days to try to nullify the advantage of Lyon bowling last on a worn pitch! 🙂

Tim Paine is going to be under severe pressure - with four keepers in our XI I think we can ruthlessly expose his work behind the stumps!

    Wow what a line up.

It’ll be a miracle if we don’t lose by an innings.

Ian Smith or Gary Stead must have been close to strapping on the pads.

I think Peter Fulton would have been more likely, but damn that's an unlikely team. Hope they win, that would be awesome and hilarious.

I think Southee should really be playing ahead of Henry.

@hydro11 agreed, with the amount of disruption they’ve already had, to rest Southee on top of that is just plain crazy.

We're paying $14 to win, $5 to draw - if anyone wants a piece of that.

Oz at $1.20 to win is pretty easy money, unless there's a lot of rain coming.

If Timmy is knackered then there's not much point playing him. Matt Henry will need to bowl a lot of overs and there's not that much between Tim and Matt.

We really needed about 4 early wickets if we want to keep this within an innings defeat.

There's a lot of difference in terms of experience and test record. I also just feel sorry for Southee who missed out on captaincy due to Christchurch.

When we bat at the moment you feel that if Williamson gets out cheaply, someone else will make runs. In this game, if Taylor or Latham go cheaply we could struggle to get to 150.

Phew, lucky it wasn't Wags' rostered test off.

The Southee omission gives another frown about this team management. Been a few frowns lately

how he resurrects us mentally after this utter destruction will be the real test.

@hydro11 Yeah - but, not enough difference between them these days that if Tim's really only got one decent spell in him that you'd go with him. Maybe if the ball was expected to really hoop around.

Tim looked pretty knackered to me in the latter stages in Melbourne - and it's not like Henry is an international rookie.

One good thing about this test is that we will find out a bit about our next tier of players - there's certainly a chance for some of them to make a statement, if they're good enough.

The only thing you can do is write it off as a lesson. Australia were excellent and showed our weaknesses. We are okay against most sides but Straya at home not so much
