It shouldn't be up to us. It's either allowed or it's not. Umpires should make the call.

If we can’t put 300 up on this surface, then I think we know where this team is at.

NB: Auckland has turned this weird dull orange. Sun behind clouds with fire particles you presume.

No. Not every game of cricket is played with professional umpires. Having a clear ruling on taped up bowling hands is far more effective.

Much more logical to give the receivers of a taped up hand deciding it's use.
Don't likeit? tough, take the bandage off then

Would have liked Raval and Latham to press on a while longer, do not like when we lose multiple wickets in a short amount of time. Add to that, Phillips was bloody lucky not to be the third. But we got a solid start, at least. I'm liking Blundell in the opener role.

I have very high expectations of NZA. 300 runs on the board at least.

This looks like our type of pitch. Got to think we can make runs here....got to.

Laws clearly state, no bandaging or tape on bowling hand. Will the sportsmanship team NZ let him tape it?

                I fkn hope not!

                We are too generous.

Chance to get him out of the game or at the very least to make him take it off so its harder for him, but no.

What would Aus do? It's not allowed, so tell him to take it off. It is effectively cheating - again.

Half way between, and the same. It is like a high level smog that is changing the light and it is starting to smell a bit smokey in a sort of drizzle. Not normal.

I keep walking away and coming back to check the score...hoping for that big partnership....just watched BJ get out to chopped on...could say no luck but we aren’t making our own luck. 300 looks a long way away.

CDG is the man for the occasion.

Be good to see him score a swashbuckling century and have Aussie batting before lunch tomorrow under pressure.

When do some questions start getting asked about Peter Fulton as a batting coach?

Who'd have thought it'd be mainly our senior batsmen who'd be so collectively poor this entire series...

Yeah - though with a direct hit and he would have been metres out.

Just gifting them his wicket, though, when we're fighting for credibility!
