Danger Close - about the battle of Long Tan.

To be honest, I started watching this, it was getting late and the dialogue and acting at the start was a bit average, so almost bailed...but stayed and things did get better.

Last hour was pretty intense, can only imagine how those poor buggars felt out there, not sure if the selfish actions of one of the top brass was true, but astounding if it is.

Was odd seeing Ragnar Lothbrook as an Aussie Major...

4 I'm out of ammo out of 5 f#ck that was close, again

Right, I'm 54 minutes into this fucking travesty and the artistic licence they've taken with this to make it "entertaining" is infuriating.

Saw Jojo Rabbit last night. Some real good laughs but its a pretty awkward era to make jokes out of, at times it felt a bit scattered between super sadness and then some hilarity, reminded me of 'Boy' in some ways. Waititi as Hitler was hilarious and Sam Rockwell was brilliant.
    4 Stielhandgranate's out of 5 German Bowies

Just watched it. The kid is excellent. Sam Rockwell has turned into one of my favourite actors. His characters might be alike, but they're always good.

I watched the recent Ghostbusters movie tonight. Admittedly I had sub zero expectations based on comments here and elsewhere. But it didn't totally suck. I found it mildly amusing, it was full of nice nods to the original. Maybe I'm in a generous holiday mood but I'll give it 3 Mr Staypuffs out of 5 converted hearses

    Gemini Man - Wil Smith x 2.

Decent action flick about Smith as an Assassin trying to retire, but his former employer wont let him and sends a special assassin to kill him...

3.5 Wil Smiths out of 5 Super soldiers

Peanut Butter Falcon - Shea Le BOuf and Dakota Johnson, although they arent really the stars of this movie...rather Zach Gottsagen who has Down Syndrome.

I know Le Bouf isnt a fave of many, but thought he was good in this, as he helps Zach try to realise his dream of becoming a Wrestler once he escapes form the old peoples home where he is in care.

kinda modern day Huck Finn type film, with the good feels.

3.5 body presses out of 5 escape attempts

The Gentleman: A return to the London gangster style movie for Guy Ritchie(more Lock Stock/Snatch than Revolver) that I thought was an enjoyable couple of hours. Colin Farrell was hilarious in this, he has a smallish role but had me in hysterics the entire time. Quite a decent cast: Mathew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Farrell, Henry Golding, Eddie Marsan and Charlie Hunnum.

The Clone Wars (movie): Better than the prequels although Boba Fett has changed from being a Maori to an Australian so that sucks balls. Can't believe I hadn't already seen this (or maybe I did and forgot?) Anakin seems to regress from this movie (not sure what happens in the series) by the time Revenge of the Sith comes around.

Have you watched the clone wars tv series?
Well worth a watch and at times definitely not a kids series..
On a whole car superior to the prequels

Haven't watched the series, I'm not really a fan of animation so it's never been high on my too watch list. If they made a live version I'd be first in line.

There's an episode list online so you can avoid the stinkers, but plotting/story wise it's some of the best Star Wars out there. Best part is watching the prequels after seeing a good chunk of it makes those films better.

They do the impossible and make Anakin pretty cool.

If I watch it I'd have to deep dive and do the whole thing. ๐Ÿ™‚

It's really just the animation thing that's stopping me, a few years back I realised I didn't really like animation all that much so I only watch the odd Pixar these days.

Xmas break seems to be my Stars Wars watching time (the Prequels, Clone Wars, ROTJ as well as the recent movie were all watched this break) so maybe next Xmas I'll watch S1, so in 8 years time I'll be caught up.

Yeah, even the movie made Anakin cooler.

It's pretty stylised animation. I found it pretty easy to enjoy, but I do like comics and art so it's up my street.

Oh, I'm pretty similar, I've always been into comics, have some manga and Lichtenstein on my walls, used to watch manga ... just found myself not wanting to watch animated stuff a few years back. Would like to watch all the Star Wars animated series but would have to force myself to start watching I guess.

Yup clone wars Anakin is a lot better then prequels anakin.

Rebels is a great series too, takes a while to find itself but once it does itโ€™s bloody good. Ties in nicely with the original trilogy and the previous Clone Wars.

With all the movie remakes in the past decade, do you think they could do that to Star Wars Episodes 1-6?

I'd definitely watch. And they could still use James Earl Jones....

Itโ€™s more likely that they do a Darth Vader movie for the period between 3 and 4.

Some of the DV comics have been pretty good.
